DMV restrooms a disaster
Today I had to go to the DMV to get my daughter her permit. We showed up at 8:10 am They open at 8:00 am. We wait in a line outside the door for about 10 minutes. We get # 367. They are on #327. We wait & wait. I ask an employee if I can just get the test again for my daughter to take. We were there last week the computers went down & we just lined up to take the test. She said no not today.
They start asking people to line up for license renewals, out of state licenses. Which is great for these people, but they slow down on calling the numbers. It took 2 hours before they called #367. So 40 numbers called in 2 hours. Once my daughter was called, & passed, it took another hour before we got the permit.
The reason I am writing today is the restroom situation in the building. At 9:30 am I have to use it. I get up walk over to the one stall locked bathroom & read a sign due to vandalism you must key from front desk clerk. I walk back to front ask for the key & I am told I must have a document to get the key from her. I am assuming she means my license, I tell her my daughter has my purse, I will go get it. I go back & get my ID give it to her. I am thinking this must be one plush bathroom. NO, it was like a third world bathroom. No mirror, no toilet paper, there was a stack of paper towels, ice cold water running from the sink. Now I was not having my picture took, but if I was I might just want a mirror in the bathroom. Or anywhere in this
There is no place to change a baby in this bathroom. Oh wait the cement floor, yep as I was saying I felt like we were in a third world country.
This letter has not been edited.
and those stickies on the front page are such a distraction too.
well aruora is very happy to accommodate all of the illegals it can get so the place is begining to look like mexico to make them feel at home.
Thats so true. Its all the trashy illegals who want to make it look like the homeland.

Posted by clyde on October 30, 2007 07:39 PMHm illegal immigrants, front page advertisements and socialized medicine as the only comments... none of which has anything at all to do with the letter. Yep, must be the RMN forums.

remove this hateful remarks....this restroom has nothing to do with undocumented immigrants and you know it.
It is time for the Rocky to assume some responsibility for the racists who post their comments in this newspaper....
Enough is enough....get these comments off the newspaper

Posted by Adam07 on October 30, 2007 09:56 PMI've actually been in a few third-world bathrooms (mostly in India) and while some of them had lightbulbs, most did not offer anything in the way of toilet paper. Regarding the mirror: that's not exactly a necessity.. mostly an American thing. As for the ice-cold water: yeesh ya had water and yer still complaining? In most third-world countries, ANY water is a luxury. It is becoming that way in many parts of the US, too. (think about the Southern states, currently in the grips of a drought)
So.. I'm sorry your visit to DMV's restroom was not pleasant. The bigger question: Did your daughter get her permit/license? Are you insured? Is she insured? Does she know to wear a seat belt at all times? Does the car she drive (or will drive) have airbags? Is she responsible enough to handle such a powerful machine?
KISSES!!!

Anyone who wants to visit strange rest rooms should try the various rest areas around the country. Most of them have no toilet paper, no running water other than the toilets and their condition depends more on the time of day than anything else.
As a truck driver I have been to all. Worst one is between Denver and California on I 70 somewhere between Colorado and Utah, on top of a mountain road. It's small, relatively clean and if you don't have to use it go right on b, especially in the winter. Humiliation is calling your husband from the bathroom and asking him to get out of the truck and come unstick you from the stainless steel toilet seat.
Posted by momma y on October 31, 2007 12:24 AMthank you adam of the progressive liberal left showing how you hate it when others have free speech.
Posted by on October 31, 2007 06:32 AMFree Speech....or free racism?
What does a bathroom in DMV have to do with immigrants?
Nothing except when bigots like you get involved.
Don't use the freedom speech to spew your hate and racism!
One thing we can blame on immigrants....is that they bring out the worst in most - and you are proof of that.

He wants the bad comments to go away so they don't offend him. Adam doesn't like free speech, unless it helps his pansy ajenda.
Sorry little Adam. Please cry quietly.
Posted by truthy on October 31, 2007 07:01 AMWhat Truthy....trying to limit my freedom of speech?
Lord forbid that you of all people would try to do that?
Okkay for you to cry loudly....but when my freedom of speech is questioned....i am to cry quietly?
Get a life truthy.....
Posted by Adam07 on October 31, 2007 07:08 AMNancy, I'm guessing since you are in Aurora you did not visit the DMV at 1865 W Mississippi. However, by your description you could have been describing this location as well.
At least they apparently have everything standardized.
Posted by Harry on October 31, 2007 07:13 AMAdam! Use your indoor voice! You better straighten up mister or I am taking the Wii! I mean it. I will!
Posted by truthy on October 31, 2007 07:17 AMYou all are missing the salient point. The DMV has become an autonomous agency of our taxpayer funded government and, like all arrogant dictatorial entities their purpose for existence is money and power, do you know that the DMV can impose penalties on you that ignore judicial decisions and juries findings of not guilty and add to any penalties in addition to those imposed by those two as well.
But back to the dirty bathrooms. Because the DMV is all too focused on money and power, they only employ those who can insure that which does not include maintenance people, except for their inner circle of the above cited money and power producing minions.
Posted by Allen Campbell on October 31, 2007 09:18 AMOh, the horror. I can't imagine what a painful experience this must have been.
Posted by Answer for Everything on October 31, 2007 09:22 AMGuys, you are ALL missing the point. Illegals had nothing to do with this restroom. They never set a foot inside the DMV since they all drive without licenses or insurance.
We don't need no stinkin insurance!
Posted by on October 31, 2007 11:29 AMPost 11:29
Then it must be those filthy gringos urinating on the floor, wiping their snots on the wall and leaving feces on the toilet seat and not washing their hands after stinking up the entire DMV.
We don't need no stinkin toilet paper!
That takes up time!
Mommy Ya: loved the story!!! (if not the visual)
Kisses!!!

If you think the visual was bad, be glad you missed the actual.
My husband never tires of his version of "tongue on a frozen flagpole."
Pity though. Until that I had the advantage. We were cross country truck drivers. A jug of pure, unfiltered apple cider got lost under his bunk. Few weeks later fermentation blew it
up in the middle of the night. Bill jumped out of the truck and ran a dozen yards before he realized nothing was on fire. It was a large rest area full of trucks and it was also about 40 degrees. Best part was Bill sleeps in his original packaging. I think he ran back to the truck faster than he'd run out.
Well now. That should raise the general level back up to toilet talk.
Posted by momma y on October 31, 2007 07:11 PMMomma y, know that rest room well, we stop there every time we go to Vegas. The most shiny rest area anywhere.
Posted by Sharon B. on November 1, 2007 06:47 PMOh yeah. It's shiny. Just don't sit on the seat in sub zero weather.

Mexican-American resents footing the bill
Monday, October 22 at 12:01 AM
I am a person of Hispanic descent and I have to tell you that it makes me angry that the other persons of Hispanic descent are expecting us as taxpayers to foot the bill for the education of their children in a bilingual school.
That doubles the expense of educating children. Why is it up to us to interpret the English language for these folks? If the parents of the children would educate themselves prior to coming to our country, perhaps it wouldn’t be as expensive for the schools and maybe then more schools could remain open.
It’s wrong for immigrants who come to this country to expect us to foot the bill for their every need! So let’s not blame the school district for the problems; how about we look in the mirror!
We can’t allow this abuse of our good graces and our programs that were designed for the American people to continue.
I am Mexican myself, however my family came here legally and assimilated to the American way of life including speaking the language of the land — English. If immigrants really want to contribute to America, that would be a good place to start!
