Erik Highland of Denver writes:

I’ve been reading the Rocky Mountain News for over 30 years now, and couldn’t imagine sitting up to the breakfast table without it. Sifting through the advertisements has always been part of the package, and until now, no big deal. However, this sticky yellow square of irritant you call advertising that has been fastened to the front page of the paper lately literally ruins the product. This new ad is always covering a crucial part of a picture or article, and when you remove it, the paper tears with it. I understand the vital role advertiser’s play in your business, but when the ads diminish the quality of your paper, you lose more than you gain. I, for one, will only tear off a few more of these “post it” notes before I tear up my subscription.
