Just say 'no' to some city bond issues
Thursday, October 18 at 12:01 AM

Voters are being asked by Denver's mayor, City Council and other organizations
to get in "lock step" and vote "yes" on all ballot measures.
Hold on - not so fast.
As a homeowner who is concerned every time I pay my property taxes, I appreciate
that the Rocky Mountain News does a great job in educating the voters.
I will vote "yes" on some items, like improving the police crime lab, libraries
and infrastructure such as streets and sidewalks, but will vote "no" on many
others. It is a shame that instead of lumping highly needed projects with ones
that are very questionable, we cannot simply vote on issues separately, even if
it would mean a ballot with some 20-plus items.
I am a great admirer of Mayor John Hickenlooper, but I hope the voters will, like me,
seriously study the issues and just say "no" to some.

Every Election Day the politicians ask for more and more and more, ad infinitum. They have wasted so much of the taxpayer's money, it's pathetic. A little accountability, some belt-tightening, and some elimination of the deadwood, and they could accomplish everything they want with absolutely NO tax increases.

vote no and make the politicians work with in a budget like the rest of us do.
hey remember they have all of the extra money from their de-bruceing lies a few years ago but I guess all of that money has been spent 10 times over and they need more and more.

It's very simple. Vote no on everything.

I'm inclined to enter my protest by voting NO on every ballot measure because the ballot comes to me in Spanish even though I can read (not well) Spanish and am fluent in Spanish; however, this is the United States not Spain or Mexico.

Isn't this just an attempt to "make pretty" for the Democratic National Convention?

Why have all of these things been left to deteriorate for so long?
