Money can cause incompetence
Tuesday, October 30 at 2:00 PM

Allen Campbell of Colorado Springs writes:

I paraphrase, but I think accurately; politicians promote themselves to their level of incompetence, always, if we allow it. And that incompetence is a highly contagious plague that rapidly spreads among all of their kind when they are elected to public office While it is true that this desease may be difficult to ascertain at times owing to the inconsistency of the intensity of outbreaks, it has been often observed that when they are exposed to money it exacerbates the symtoms and creates a overwhelming need to get all they can of it, much like a meth or heroine addict craves their drug of choice.
It is unclear if this is a genetical or environmentical caused condition but the first sign of infection appears to be a tendency toward intentional lying. This appears to be automatic, much like stuttering or a facial tic or spasm but, not so obvious as either.
The only way to prevent this disease from spreading is to remove the infected from office before it becomes endemic within the legislatures and offices they occupy.
I am expending every effort to get the AMA and the FDA to recognize this as the dangerous and debilitating desease it truely is and get the pharmaceutical companies to do the research and come up with a cure, But I don’t think I will succeed due to the fact that pharmaceutical companies are among the biggest spreaders around of money there is in legislatures and public official’s offices . Maybe the way to cure the desease is to get rid of those who provide the money in the first place by prosecuting them as dangerous drug dealers.

what a nice piece of what ever.
so I guess what you are really saying is that all the hopefuls out there running around and raising all sorts of cash anyway they can are truely imcompentent. well that goes along well with the group who have been boasting getting more cash than the other party. but any way you look at it when the democrat party wanted to get cash out of politics I think they were talking about the other party not being ablel to or allow to raise more money than them. one of the big money raisers is already giving back donations and having alot of others questioned, but I am confident that her hubby can show her the way to cover it up and keep all the money.

I think James Dobson is afflicted.

Great letter Allen (and well written). There is a name for the affliction you describe. It's called greed. The people have tried to move against it but their leaders are so infected by it they create laws to protect their addiction.

Greed? But I thought that greed was the great motivator...

It sure motivated the Roman Empire until it collapsed.

The phenomenon is called The Peter Principal. It is especially bad in government because there is no accountability. People rise to their level of incompetence, and then cease to promote becase they are finally over their heads. There they stay, screwing up everything below them.

When I first saw this letter I thought the headline read "Money Can Cause Impotence". LOL. If that's the case, it explains why Rush Limbaugh needed all that Viagra on his business trip.

The writer claims that "money causes incompetence", it does not. Whatever the reasons, and there are many, why they are not tending to the "people's business", the ultimate responsibility lies with the many incompetent and apathetic members of the electorate. We, the elecotorate, are the ones who place them in those positions and then don't have the "courage" to remove them, either because they are "my friend" or "members of my party'". If that is to be corrected, let us start at the local level where we find the "future porkers in training".

GREAT EXAMPLE OF INCOMPETENCE: HILLARY BOMBS DEBATE

PHILADELPHIA - - "We now know something that we did not know before: When Hillary Clinton has a bad night, she really has a bad night.

In a debate against six Democratic opponents at Drexel University here Tuesday, Clinton gave the worst performance of her entire campaign.

It was not just that her answer about whether illegal immigrants should be issued drivers’ licenses was at best incomprehensible and at worst misleading.

It was that for two hours she dodged and weaved, parsed and stonewalled.

And when it was over, both the Barack Obama and John Edwards campaigns signaled that in the weeks ahead they intend to hammer home a simple message: Hillary Clinton does not say what she means or mean what she says. "

HILLARY'S GOT IT ALL: MONEY, INCOMPETENCE & SHE'S A LAIR!

7:55 AM, Robert,

Remove money from the equastion and you remove the motive. To say money is not the reason behind incompetence is to deny the special interests that use it to cause replacement of validity with corruption and that is the self inflictive incompetence that politician suffer from. With out money that can not exist.

The big news last night: DENNIS KUCINICH HAS SEEN A UFO.

In the weird last minutes of the debate Rep. Dennis Kucinich (Ohio) gave us a highlight:

Asked about the statement by actress Shirley MacLaine that Kucinich had seen a UFO at her house, Kucinich said that he had.

Nurse Ratchet, the straight jackets please!

Can money actually cause this level of profound stupidity, or does money simply expose the stupidity that has been concealed by an imbecile? In any event, it appears that the democrats are juimping into the mahoula on TV and in front of all America...and are pulling the chain all by themselves! That flushing sound you hear is just another democrat fulfilling his destiny.

Hank,

It is, of course, self inflicted incompetence much in the way that dictators require incompetence of those they rule whether or not that incompetence is inherent in the peole or not. Either way though, it is still incompetence in action and that is what politicians suffer from regardless of the cause but, mostly it is the obligation they incur for themselves by accepting money from special interests.
