Robert E Forman of Lakewood writes:

Blacks can proclaim “Black power” and Hispanics can yell “Brown power” and that is free speech that must be accepted and defended; have a white student proclaim “White power” and...that it different.
Have six white people gang up on a black person and beat him almost to death and Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton will decry the actions of the lynch-mob racists — no matter what the black person may or may not have done days before. But have six black people gang up on a white person and beat the white person almost to death —- and that is different. Jackson and Sharpton will defend and justify the actions of black lynch-mob racists simply because they are black lynch-mob racists.
Yes, racists are alive and well in this country — as recent events clearly show.

Robert, Thanks for the letter. It is time for the worm to turn.

What a shame that Robert does not understand that according to the public schools Blacks are the only ones to have ever been enslaved and that for over 400 years in this country it is time that they be allowed to run-a-mok.

Fact that 400 years of oppression is part of Al Gores fuzzy math and puts blacks in the colonies almost 100 years before they actually showed up, and that there is evidance undisputable that there has not been a single race of humans that at one time or another who have not been enslaved does not count.

In this country if you are white you have no civil rights and should bend over for black power and brown power. Just wait untill the chinese get up in arms and the price of take out sky rockets.

Racism AND hypocrisy are still alive in this country.

So this is your reasoning, a pathetic attempt at rationalization, behind the resurgence of racism among the white community? It sounds like this:

"B, b, b, bu, but, but we tried to be nice to THOSE people, but they can't let a history of injustice and hatred be like so much water under the bridge. Well fine! So be it! They do not remember just how deep our hatred is, so we need to remind them all of it. Hey, folks! Are your ancestors from parts of Europe that were considered undesirable a hundred years ago? Well, now that you all are white now, join us in hating everyone else! With our expanded numbers, it should be no problem to put those black people back in their place, and to begin again the glorious tradition of lynching, only this time the trees will bear brown fruit! We have never done anything wrong in the history of this country or in the history of mankind, so let's show those commie minorities just how evil our actions can be, since they've forgotten by now. Let's all rise up, wrap ourselves in the flag, and be as anti-american as we possibly can be! That'll show THOSE people to never attempt to be like us white people, because they were never a part of american society to begin with."

If this is not the intent of this letter, then someone better tell me what the intent actually was. Sorry folks, but you sound like the above paragraph. But if you all are happy with the anti-american political strategy of "divide and conquer", then you will never have any sort of right to lash out at those who heap scorn and ridicule upon you. All you "people" have the right to do is to wallow in your own personal and ideological filth.

The point of this letter is that when whites do something it's racist. When minorities do something it seems to be justified in one way or another.

If there were White College Funds and White Miss America pageants or anything labeled white it is IMMEDIATELY labeled racist and here come Jesse and Al. There can be Hispanic Chambers of Commerce, Latino this and that and nothing is said. Every other ethnic group can clearly label their organizations and no one blinks an eye. THAT is the point of this letter.

My understanding is that the black kids are being charged. I have to wonder what c's understanding is, if any.

The problem with most of the above letters is that they were written by extremists who are addicted to writing in hyperbole.

While most objective and knowledgeable people would agree that by and large blacks are treated more unfairly by our justice system than whites, this was a terrible place to try to make that point since the blacks here are not likely to get much sympathy and since they clearly perpetrated racial violence.

a rope in a tree is not right, we should be better than that, a mob attact is much worse no matter the skin color. When the hell are all races going to move forward and stop blaming each other for where we are today. NO ONE AND I REPETE NO DAMM ONE can improve your future but YOU. Get the hell off the poor pitiful me train(and that includes whites) and start improving your life. STOP expecting the taxpayers ie: the government, to pay your way. You dont have a job do something about it. your life sucks, do something to improve it, you have the power to change your life along with those around you. No matter what your color, you make those around you see or not see color by your behavior.

Okay, nooses hanging from a tree is in poor taste but there was nothing against the law in that, according to an article I read. Hate crimes actually relate to when a person is physically hurt, not emotionally.

I believe I also read that the white student who was beaten didn't even have anything to do with the nooses in the tree. So who really committed the hate crime here? Seems pretty obvious to me. Maybe we whities should get out and march!
