What is going on in the political world of America? I have been searching for a
candidate of integrity, truth, wisdom, and yet every televised debate leaves me
sick to my stomach.
The only candidate who makes any sense is Ron Paul. I swore that I would not
register as a Republican again after George Bush let me down with war, torture,
abuse of civil liberties, search and seizure, excessive taxation, support of big
pharma and mandatory vaccines, but I can't hear another voice in the crowd
alerting us to the dangers of big government and the overstepping of executive powers with the kind of urgency of Paul.
I guess I'll have to register as an elephant after all. Shame on you donkeys for
not seeing the opportunity sooner!

Ellen didn't mention it,so I will.Ron Paul is a Libertarian.The trouble with Libertarians is that they're right........But they're such independent freethinking folks that getting them organized into anything resembling a political party always sends would-be organizers back to their old jobs,grateful once again for the predictability and calm of herding cats.

Ron Paul may be considered a libertarian by other socialisrt who would like to further their agenda. However people are recogniseing this fact.
Conservatives are not supporting Ron Paul but those on the left are, and pretending to be conservatives.

I certainly must disagree with the notion that conservatives aren't supporting Paul, but those on the left are.

I run around in a lot of conservative circles, and I'm often dismayed as to how many people in those circles are supporting Paul. Much of what Paul says IS the conservative message, or at least what it was.

I say that I'm dismayed because a lot of these conservatives state that they won't support the Republican candidate if it isn't Paul, and they will write him in if he does not receive the nomination (which he won't).

I like some of what Paul says, I dislike some of what Paul says. My problem with Paul, however, stems from the fact that he is the wrong person delivering the right message. He is a whiny, shrill man who comes across as a complete nutfudge.

Paul also comes across as childish when he stated in the debates that he would NOT support the GOP candidate if it was someone other than himself. In other words, he'll run for president, and if he doesn't win, he's taking his ball and going home.

Washington is, unfortunately, full of compromise. This is how things are done. For that matter, adult life is full of compromise. Only immature children leave the game and take the ball when things aren't going their way.

The Republican presidential field is turning into more of a circus every day. Let's see, there were three Republican candidates, now two since Brownback dropped out, that do not believe in evolution, Gulliania's sex life makes Blill Clinton seem like a saint, Fred Thompson, along with his wife so is young enough to be his granddaughter, is trying to be the next Reagan, McCain is having bizzare sing alongs about bombing Iran and now this Libertarian whack-job is turning into the GOP candidate of choice.
Daytime soap operas have nothing on this debacle.

Surprised about politics being like soap operas, not I. In fact they were the original soap operas in American newpapers. Before TV, movie news reels were showing the politicians as the Stars of soap operas and now the politicians have all the seedy, lustful, corruptional actions that now are in the TV soaps.

I recently listened to a "speech", if you can call it that, by Ron Paul and much of what he dicussed made sense. However, he still came off like a libertarian. He may be the only conservative who can redeem the Republican Party but, at this time, inspite of any of his logical statements, he doesn't stand a chance.

Ron Paul may have once been a libertarian, but he sold out liberty to get the support of the most extreme elements of the Pat Buchannan crowd. Real libertarians support freedom, including the freedom to emigrate/imigrate freely across national borders. Not to mention you can not be anti choice and a libertarian.

Dr. Paul is already well aware of the SPP, the Trans-Texas Corridor, and the NAU. He is as concerned about these issues as are the rest of us freedom-loving Americans.

Had that video come from anyone else at CNN except for Lou "I hate Mexicans" Dobbs, I would have given it some thought. But seeing as Lou has his own paraniod issues concerning Mexico, and now the North American Union, I can only wonder what posseses CNN to keep that man on the air. What makes you think that the controlling interests in Mexico would want to enact anything that you would consider "meaningful economic reforms"? I assume you're making reference to the fact that, in Mexico, wealth is highly concentrated and poverty is epidemic. Why would the people in power in Mexico (the wealthy) want to "reform" the current system?

Nobody said anything about "infiltrating the US government". In fact, it's pretty clear that the executive branch of the US government is on board with the plan and that they are side-stepping the legislative branch. This is precisely why we need a president who respects the separation of powers outlined by the Constitution.
