RTD has voted for a rate increase in the fare boxes. The vote was 9-2 with four members absent. It take eight votes to pass a yes vote so they passed it by one. Yet what about the four missing members for the vote. Can anyone say irresponsibility.
In important votes considering rate hike I believe that everyone should be present.

Sounds like business as usual for RTD or the Denver CIty Council. They both can't get enough money for their Executive six figure salaries for really doing nothing that merits those types of rewards.

We'll still be riding the same old smelly buses with the same mediocre service.

That is why 4 years ago I went and bought a Vespa scooter and never use RTD. In bad weather I'll use my car and pay to park rather than take the overcrowded, unruly, smelly bus.

To show you how much I hate the "Loser Cruiser" I even have an ECO Pass my job provides me.

RTD is too close to the government feeding trough, they think that all they need to say is we don't have enough money and presto, taxes are increased. Of course then the bonuses go out because, "we deserve it, we worked hard to get the funds to complete the job we said would cost 3 tmes less than it actually does."

Expense do go up - but it is really irresponsible for them to raise fares without first making sure they are getting every dollar they should and that they are giving as much bang for the buck they can.

How?
1. Get the fare boxes off the buses. People who don't have passes can purchase tickets at kiosks at the stations or at grocery stores (liquor stores too for that matter) Stop making bus drivers fare collectors - it doesn;t work very well.
2. Be ON TIME. if the schedule says you arrive at 4:17, then by golly, be there at 4:17

Don't blame the black folks in N.E. Denver. FOr the 1st time in decades, there is no elected black representative on RTD's board of directors. A black RTD board member wouldn't have voted for a rate increase, because blacks in N. E. Denver are strapped with a comparable, black national unemployment rate of 12%.

No blacks on RTD's board of directors is by design. Former SAG Salazar and the state GOP goons, decided to do a slick Teas-style redistricting in N.E. Denver. Their desired results were, criminal illegal Mexicans, armed with their falsified, perjured, and forged INS documents, would register and vote. And thuggish criminal illegals did. N.E. Denver votes were nullified like something out BOMBINGHAM, AL, directed by Bull Connor.

Another reason Salazar and the GOP wanted blacks' votes nullified, was the $14 billion federal funded (jobs/contracts) cash-cows (T-REX, Fas Tracks, CBMS, and Fitzsimons redevelopment projects). They didn't want blacks to have a voice in how these monies were disbursed.

I was mortified the GOP turned the Fitz project into a cash-cow for the LDS, SLC, and Mitt Romney's (draft-dodger) "prez" campaign. All of the jobs and contracts in this project were given to construction company owners who were LDS memebrs. Sucking hind-tit, or better yet, VAPORIZED were black disabled Vietnam veterans federally sanctioned job and contracting preferences/benefits in this project.

A true bipartisan hosing. Clinton stripped blacks from the welfare rolls, however, he left LDS and Mexicans (legal and illegal), on this cash-cow. Bush creates his own LDS welfare program, coupled with a financial pipeline to Mitt's warchest.

I am tired of being a nappy-headed HO for criminal illegal Mexicans, LDS freak-a-zoids, Vatican, Mexican gov't, etc. I am very repulsed the LDS refer to blacks as "DEVILS", however, these incestious perverts, don't have a problem when they steal our "blood-loot".

You mentioned LDS several times in his H. Rap Brown Style. Maybe he's a poet on "LSD" instead and his writing "Shows It".

ever since 'lightrail' was proposed it was to taxpayer subsidized just like its parent RTD, what is all of the surprise about......raise the fares then increase taxes to pay for it....no big surprise here just colorado and denver government as usual.

Hey, who removed my post about Ben Mew? He's a bus driving legend at RTD. With an ice scraper in each hand, he crusaded for truth, justice and the American way.
