Rush Limbaugh
Much energy is spent condemning public school teachers; but those teachers compete every day with the hatred and misinformation peddled by widely popular, well-paid purveyors of fear, contempt, hate and misinformation like Limbaugh.
So: Limbaugh’s “continuing education of us?” No . Limbaugh’s continued dumbing down of us; so we might elect, perhaps, another Clueless Clancy as president of the United States and continue to enrich Ruthless Rush the Relentlessly Rotten Raconteur.
This letter has not been edited.
What is your point? Are you upset that Mr. Limbaugh is telling the truth?
Posted by Brian Stuckey on October 28, 2007 02:22 PMIt does appear that Danny is a little upset that the truth is being told and the failure of the left to silence the truth is failing. Perhaps when his idol Nancy Pelosi gets her 4 day work week inacted he will be happier knoweing she is backing out of more of her leadership responsibilities.
If Rush is in his eyes a bad teacher and a pervayor of lies then what does he consider the Teachers Union? This is a group that not only provides onesided information with a left slant, but seems to be full of pedophiles that assault our children. Is this the people Danny wants in charge?
Posted by TheRightWing on October 28, 2007 04:02 PMFirst of all, anyone that takes a commentator to heart, whether it is Hannity, Limbaugh, Coulter, Franken, etc. is a moron. Plain and simple. Some don't know what to think of an issue until their favorite talk-show host tells them what to think of it. Secondly, I might take "TheRightWing" seriously about the Teachers Union being full of pedophiles if there hadn't been the recent rash of priests, ministers, and GOP Congressmen acting like pervs as well.
Posted by BO on October 28, 2007 06:41 PMRush and his supporters are increasingly irrelevant.
Extremists on both sides of the aisle do their listeners and supporters no favors when they damage their credibility by insisting that their opinions are centered and credible.

"Extremists on both sides of the aisle do their listeners and supporters no favors when they damage their credibility by insisting that their opinions are centered and credible."
Can I assume that this means we will be hearing less from you in the future? I know you would not want to do any more damage to your credibility.
Or are you only talking about Right Wing Extremists?

Posted by jay on October 28, 2007 09:19 PMEither Rush is a complete idiot or a precognitive genius. He posted his transcript of the program and the video record of it that night. The hue and cry came later. That would make him a complete idiot if he was trying to hide anything.
If you think he changed the transcript why did he do it before there was any opposition or argument? Can anyone think that 20 million people would be devoid of taping devices during his show? So he is a genius to change it before anyone could notice and an idiot to post anything.
So he looked into the future and knew he would need to change things? Millions of people listened to his broadcast and never heard any hint of an attack on anyone but those posing as soldiers to gain fame and or fortune. One was mentioned by name. Others have been mentioned before with names and jail records cited. So, he is a complete moron to say such things but a genius to hide them from everyone but his 20 million listener audience.
I was listening to the show and I clearly understood he was referring to the make-believe soldier serving jail time.
But, let's say you're right and he was smearing soldiers who disagree with the war. What kind of a move was it when the Senate tried to cause him trouble with Clear Channel? How much like the monkey pen at the zoo did they make themselves appear when a patriotic woman bought the letter for such a high amount? This money goes to help the children of fallen soldiers and police and firemen. The members of the Senate have been challenged to match Rush's contribution.
Here's betting few or none give anything and none will match the amount. Their support for the troops is confined to the space between their teeth.
Rush knows what he is doing. I don't agree with him 100%, NAFTA being one point, but he speaks for people who have been denied a strong media voice. We finally have someone to counter the left of center press and the result is he has a bullseye painted on his rear end. Probably right next to that cyst you all complain about. He could retire tomorrow and live like a king for the rest of his life. He won't. He enjoys pouring oil on the troubled flames of verbal fires started by the mental midgets on the left. I just wish I had my health and his skill because I'd go for the same job for the same reasons. Money? Yes, but the joy of twisting the tail of a reporter is one thing I have never had the joy of doing. Not even after I watched them make up two stories I observed in person and didn't recognize in print or on the TV news. If I hadn't known the names I would have thought it a completely different incident.
Posted by momma y on October 28, 2007 11:31 PMDan,
With talent on loan from God and one hand tied behind his back to make it fair, Rush is America's doctor of democracy as well as America's anchor man.
Dan, Rush is right 98.9% of the time! But I also think he gets too much credit for making monkeys out of liberals like Reid, Pelosi, Gore, Kennedy and Kerry (collectively enjoying 11% job approval)--they come with such a head start. The only thing that they are missing is the banana, and Rush provides one every day.
Dan, once again its the season for rabis. Did you make an appointment for your shot?
Posted by Hank on October 29, 2007 08:44 AMMost of the Rush haters, like Dan, have never taken the time to listen to ElRushbo.
The very first paragraph of Dan's letter is indeed proof that Dan missed the whole point of the E Bay auction. The money paid by the Casey foundation wasn't to support Rush, but to support a foundation that aids in the education of children of fallen servicemen and women.
The most "hateful" aspect of that little drama was Rush's matching donation.
Listen to what Rush says not what the Rush haters say that he says.
Listen to Ruish all you want, just remeber he is NOT a news Reporter. He is an entertainer and promotes his own ideas, opinions and agendas. The sad aspect of rush is that many of his supporters believe every word he says. Keep in mind that he is also a drug addict and his opiniions are somewhat fuzzy from his addiction.

You are absolutely correct. The Limbaugh apologists posting here are proof that they take his spins, hate and lies as news and fact which really is.....well, down right bizarre.
Posted by GK on October 29, 2007 10:24 AMLetter writer Daniel Brickley is a typical Democrat. He understands that if there were no lies there would be no Democrat party. He knows that Rush has to be demonized so people will not listen to him.He knows the public can get the truth on talk radio and that is hurting the Democrat party. The Democrats will try to silence talk radio by using words like hate, extremists and fear mongreing but the word they really fear is "truth".The truth is one thing the Democrat party can't tolerate. All their issues are build on "Phoney Facts".Listen to Rush and all talk radio personalities and judge for yourself. You will find that they are "educating" the public with the facts that the Democrats and their media"sock puppets" don't want you to hear.
Posted by An American on October 29, 2007 10:56 AMDid you know that studies have shown that listening to Rush Limbaugh can actually make you stupid?
Posted by GK on October 29, 2007 11:12 AMGK
You may have a point. I had an IQ of 165+ when I was in college but since I had a severe head injury, 8 heart attacks and 4 major surgeries and am down to 148.
I did see a statistic that a poll had for Rush listeners that rated them as more intelligent and informed. Could be that people who are intensely interested in things listen to him whether or not they agree and that is what makes the difference.
My opinion is that people who listen to Rush are more interested in subject matter than in the resultant name calling. I am one who finally found a conservative voice that wasn't attached to an old fuddy duddy.
Those doing the name calling ignore the most available resource, the website, in favor of a second hand opinion. Must admit, it is one way to avoid getting kicked in the tail by the realization that the prevailing opinion is based on a false premise.
I understand. I wasn't in a mood to really see how stupid Bush was until the immigration fiasco.
You might try finding a copy of his newsletter though. It's something that can't be changed after the fact. And it says many things that are unheard elsewhere.
Posted by momma y on October 29, 2007 02:22 PMThis guy is a credibility vacuum who takes his supporters down with him.
