Salazar should match funds raised
Monday, October 29 at 10:40 AM

Len Kaiser of Denver writes:

Mr Salazar, Rush Limbaugh has challenged the 41 signers of the letter sent to his partners of his radio program. I’m sure you are an avid listener and know that he has challenged each of the signers of that letter to match the funds received in the auction of that letter. Rush is willing to put his money where is “large mouth” is...how about you? I highly doubt any of the signers of that letter are going to match the funds. It is a shame that the signers don’t share the passion Rush does for our military. I look forward to the press release that you have matched the funds...what a great gesture to our Military and Police!!!

This letter has not been edited.

READER COMMENTS

Mr. Kaiser-
Rush is not putting HIS money anywhere. He is auctioning off a letter, for publicity only. Why do the Dems have to match anything? Rush isn't.

Kerry, Murtha, Hagel- Combat, medals, injuries.
Limbaugh, Hannity, Cheney- No military service.
Who is more patriotic? You probably think Limbaugh, Hannity, and Cheney are. What a shame.

BO (does that stand for body odor?)

Rush is adding $2.1 million of his own money to the $2.1 million from the auction which will make a grand total of $4.2 million going to the Marines and Police. I will be waiting to see how many of the 41 signers match that $2.1 million.

You really need to stay updated on the news before making stupid statements.

"It is a shame that the signers don’t share the passion Rush does for our military."

That's rich. If Rush's left-wing counterparts had even approached some of the defamatory remarks he's made about military members who - gasp! - disagree with the Republican line ... meaning if left-wing talk hosts made the same comments about soldiers who disagree with the Democratic line ... conservatives' heads would explode at the blatant anti-military attitudes.

Mr. Kaiser, it's convenient that you left out the entire reason this controversy ignited in the first place. You do know, right?

Your letter is right on target, Mr. Kaiser. Thanks for your comments.

Ken Salazar was a lousy AG and an even lousier Senator.

Posted by on October 29, 2007 03:33 PM

Ken Shamnesty Salazar is great, if you are the Vatican, Mexican govt, Wal-Mart, or Rev. Al Sharpton (Wal-MArt paid illegals lobbyist). Sallie Mae is no friend of black folks. When he was SAG, he and Owens violated the Voting RIghts of Act 1965, by allowing criminal illegal aliens to register and vote N.E. Denver, nullifying black N.E. Denver votes. I want to jail (SuperMax and Ft. Leavenworth) Shamnesty and Uncle Obama's Cabin (Congressional Black Caucus).

bo your intelligence from media matters, the hillbillary website, is showing. one more great example of how the socialist dumocreations can not get their story straight.

what have your morons dums done since they told all of you in 06 that they would do when they took office? oh yea they raised the minimum wage so you could get a raise.

oh jeffy you must have missed the original story of the phony soldier was on your abc news. Rush repeated it as it was news worthy that some piece of trash on the progressive left was kicked out of boot camp after 44 days and claims to be a real hero who couldnt make it but talks brave to the media who would listen.

Why would anybody take advise from a rush fan?

I may begin to respect Rush if he sends a million or so to each of the Vietnam troops families that lost their loved ones while Rushie was sitting on his FAT ASS in MO and doing his best to dodge the draft while others died.

That would come to about 5.8 Billion.

I'm sure that all the chickenhawks who did the same would love to chip in .
I have much more respect for the Anti-war activists, Vietnam or Iraqi ,that at least had or have the courage to speak out and put themselves on the line for their beliefs.
Unlike Bush, Cheney, Limbaugh, O'Reilly Wolfowitz et al, what a bunch of un-American, cowardly chickenshi*s.
Cough it up , Rush, you "phony patriot".

All you have to do these days to get the moonbats panties in a collective bunch is mention Rush or Ann Coulter.

It doesnt matter what they say.

Why do the Dems want all of these radio and TV personalities off the air? Maybe there is something to what they are saying that the Dems don't want anyone to hear. Maybe they don't want people to know about the contributions to Hillary from all of those poor Chinese street vendors, or the other side of the story to Al Gore's Global warming scam. Then they is the SCHIP program that is really nothing more than a backdoor attempt at socialize healthcare.

Why are the Dems so afraid of the whole truth? All we hear is the Dems side of these issues from the so called mainstream media, or we hear nothing at all about them. I for one like to hear both sides of the issues, you Dems should try it some time.

Rush is making himself part of the news-- that's all. It's a publicity stunt. Personally, I'm over the media thinking itself so damn important. Rush is an entertainer.... the media attention from the letter garners him more listeners, which increases his ad revenue. More ad revenue means he makes far more money than the $2.1 million he is forking over. A brilliant capitalist, but hardly patriotic.

Wow that was mature, very well said 12:28, great argument. very well articulated........

Posted by Heather on October 30, 2007 07:37 AM

As a Democrat I have to say that I am sure glad Rush is a Republican. I would hate to try and defend that ass clown.

I really enjoy it when people slam me, yet ignore 1/2 of my post, simply because they don't have a comeback. Fine, I missed something. I made a mistake. I can admit it (unlike many on here). BTW- Rush probably makes more than the average Congressman/woman.

BO- My initials. I last heard the "body odor" remark in 4th or 5th grade, which illustrates your level of thinking.

For the record- I have never logged on to media matters. I don't need a group or pundit to tell me what to think, unlike many on this board. I am capable of forming my own opinions.

I will post the question again- who is more patriotic? Hagel, Murtha, Kerry (all have seen combat) or Hannity, Limbaugh (boil on butt), Cheney (5 deferments)? I guess echoing Bush takes precedent over actual combat service, right?

Posted by BO on October 30, 2007 10:14 AM

Jeff,
It is real convenient that you didn't listen to the tape of this story isn't it you hypocrite? You DO know right?
You obviously NEVER listened to any part of if not the entire segment of this "feigned controversy" because if you had you would never have written anything contrary to what the author of this letter said.
Stop taking in talking points from others and making your mind up based on that information. It shows that you are true lapdog who cannot think or speak for himself.
Research the situation or know of what you speak of before spouting like this because it is laughable that you really think this was a controversy let alone that somebody degraded anything other than a guy (Jesse Macbeth) the left wing has taken in as their hero.
Mr MacBeth has been convicted of falsifying his military record and, oh by the way - never served in Iraq so all of the things he said he saw the troops doing there are indeed phony. Who is degrading the troops now Jeff?
Listen to that tape or read the transript (enclosed).
Otherwise shut up.

1:23 PM-when are you going to have the guts to post as anything other than "unsigned" or "anonymous"? By the way, THIS IS A FORUM! You show your arrogance and right-wing prejudices by telling someone to just "shut up" instead of exposing yourself to anyone else's opinion. Rush's EDITED transcript has impressed all of you "ditto Heads", but not everyone is as gullible as you..quit referring to that transcript if it was the real deal!

$2.1 million is chump change to a media celeb like Limbaugh; as a percentage of income, it's probably comparable to five bucks for the average American.

If you want to talk big bucks, let him match how much $$ would be made if he auctioned off his prescription for Oxy Contin.

The 41 Senators that signed the letter to take freedom of speech away will not give a penny to help our troops. They are trying to cut the money that is supporting our troops and telling lies to help the terrorists win the war.The "Phoney Americans [Democrats] "that support these Senators would not allow them to give a penny to help out troops. You may be able to get these 41 "Phoney American [Democrat]" Senators to give money to the terrorists.

Remember ,if there were no lies there would be no Democrat party !!
