SCHIP program
Wednesday, October 17 at 2:00 PM

Dave Fredrick, no hometown listed writes:

Are you going to expose the lies and hypocrisy of the Democrats using Graeme Frost to pump the expansion of the SCHIPs program that President Bush vetoed.
Why should we pay for their insurance with our tax dollars when I already pay for my families health insurance? Graeme’s dad, who it appears can afford it, should be ashamed of himself for letting the Dems use his son and his family in this way when he won’t provide for them essential health insurance.
Remember...just because the NY Times liberal news service won’t cover this doesn’t mean you can’t.

Swift boating a 12 year old. Proud days of the REpugnant party. 4,000,000 children left behind. .

Lets see, what were the "lies", exactly?

Dave, you do know that the Frosts were denied coverage by at least 3 insurance companies due to pre-existing conditions?

Lets see, a family of 4, making $45000 per year. That works out to about $30k after taxes...which is about 2500 per month. When you factor in insurance rates of $1200 per month, that doesnt leave much left, if any, for things like mortgages, food, gas, car payments, etc.

I think 2:38 said it best, though. Does the rep party have any sort of moral decency any more?

Plus, its not like they don't ever try to put a human face on things. See terri schiavo, snowflake babies, etc etc etc.

If this Schip bill didnt include ADULTS over the age of 18 , then maybe it would have passed ??

if you are 18 or older, the government should not need to take care of you on my dime!

GET IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dave, Yep. that was all political theater by the Dems. I found it disgusting that they would use a child as an election pawn. All Democrats should ashamed of the party elite.

To bad it is the members of the "family values" party that are swift baoating the Frost family. This is just another expamle of their hypocricy. Oh yeah Sen. Mitch McConell (sp?) was exposed as having lied about his knowledge of the fact that a staff member of his was involved which is also not a surprise.

I am not surprised that it is members of the party of "family values" that is swiftboating the Frost family. Once again their hypocricy is front and center. I laughed when one of the worst, Sen. Mitch McConnell was exposed as a liar concerning the fact that a staff member was involved which he denied and then denied knowledge of it even though the staff member had advised him of the involvment..

"Lets see, what were the "lies", exactly?"

The Frost case has nothing to do with this new SCHIP ( socialized health care) program. The Frost family qualified for health care as would any family in their position under the existing SCHIP requirements. Although I would have to question the $20,000 a year private school he attends.

No one wants to stop the SCHIP program, Bush has said he wants it continue with an increase of 5 billion for 5 years. He has only asked that 90% of the children who currently qualify for the SCHIP to be enrolled, before any mention of adding middle and some high income children are added to it. Does this sound unreasonable or uncaring to you?

Six states currently have more adults enrolled then they do children. I thought this program was suppose to be for the poor children. Get the children who currently qualify before you start adding any new children and more adults..

jgd777 he has a scholarship to the school, does that interest you?

This program is not for poor kids, but for struggling middle class families.

I too wish they would cap the age limit lower, that would make it possible to help more younger kids. Good point.

Sharon,

"I too wish they would cap the age limit lower, that would make it possible to help more younger kids. Good point."

This is just one of the issues that needs to be addressed before we start expanding it. Get the children currently eligible enrolled before you expand it. This is all Bush is trying to do, and I feel this is being very responsible and caring. I also feel this is being used as a political pawn by the Dems.
