Slipped his mooring?
Monday, October 8 at 12:01 AM

Has Rocky Mountain News columnist Paul Campos slipped his mooring? His Sept. 25 column, “Is Bill Kristol respectable?” comes within a gnat’s eyebrow of accusing Kristol, and others in the so-called neo-conservative movement, of intentionally inflicting the horror of war on others. Indeed, it seems to hint at a psychosis, suggesting, for example, that Kristol and other neo-conservatives have “An overwhelming lust for
violence ... ”
Also consider: “All these men appear to genuinely love the idea of war for its own sake — inflicting the horrific violence of modern warfare on various hapless foreigners is something that clearly excites these gentlemen quite a bit.”
Opinion columnists have considerable leeway; however, there is a line, and Campos not only crossed it, he obliterated it.

John, John, John, the only line that is crossed is when neoconservatives or anyone who has an opposeing opinion to the left in this country wakes up i the morning. By now do you not understand that. If you have common sense and half a brain you are a danger to people.

You have to get up and goose step with the progressive liberal thinkers. Afterall they have no real world wisdom or experiance therefore they are the only ones who know best for us.

What I find amusing is the number of anonymous writers who are now talking about liberals "goose-stepping". Typical use of the old Josef Goebbels technique of selling the big lie.

After all, thats the whole theme of Republicanism/"conservativeism" today: Equate anything and everything that shows the falsity of propaganda poured forth from the Oval Office - or any proposal designed for the general welfare, or common good - with "socialism", and the old Ronnie Raygun fear of the "red menace", while glorifying the idea of War-Is-Wonderful-And-Shooting-People-Is Fun.

Nearly always anonymously, of course. That's how one gets to know them. They leave a trail of their nastiness, slime, and filth behind, as they insult and slander anyone who happens to illuminate the area, and catch them before they manage to scuttle back under the rocks, and into their roach holes.

What is a neocon?

From Jake: "What is a neocon?"

Literally, it would be "new-conservative", meaning someone professing a post-Reagan, or "newer" conservative view. This is not a traditional "Eisenhower conservative" (or even a "Nixon conservative") who professed a belief in government staying OUT of people's lives.

Neocons seem to want to be in our bedrooms and on our phones with us, peeking over our shoulders at our emails, researching what books we check out from the library, etc.

In short, they support the current administration's attempts to subvert the U. S. Constitution for self-aggrandizing purposes.

Did that help?

Tom,
That did not help. About the only thing you got right was "new." Meaning, a former liberal that has seen the light and is now conservative. In addition to your every other misunderstanding, you might also point out it more often than not to you liberals, it means, . . something anti-semitic.

But to stray back on point, I don't think Campos would have the least bit of trouble coming up with plenty of documentation concerning his view of Kristol. The man is a sleazy and repugnant bastard with blood on his hands.

ok 5:04

Let's see the documentation.

Joseph S,

Thank you so much for your analysis of my writing, as well as your opinion of my position.

Might we remind "Gene" of the "conservative" who constantly sets up a straw man, in order to display his own brilliance at being able to knock it over? Or would that be inconsistent with your exposition of those to avoid; since that is exactly what your are doing?

We are supposed to be commenting on Campos and his Kristallnacht psychosis - where I agree he has slipped his mooring. I guess all one has to do nowadays is say neo- something and all liberals go nuts. They are not confortable with neo (new) ideas.
