Tax-hike request just too great for many
Monday, October 22 at 12:01 AM

Recently I researched information on ballot issues 1A and can only ask Mayor John Hickenlooper and those who support them, “Are you living on a different planet?”
If all these ballots passed at one time, the rest of the nation can look at Denver and think of us as really rich or really stupid.
Asking the citizens of Denver for a tax increase of nearly $550 million is outrageous. The majority of the citizens will be paying the bill and a small minority of communities will profit.
There are many new people who have moved into Denver but have also moved out after a short period of time because of foreclosures and other economic problems.
Those of us who have been paying taxes for 40 or more years will be paying for these bonds for 20 years. Do the math — it will not be a $63 a year tax increase. Even $63 is too much for people on low or fixed incomes. People struggle enough to make their house payments without their property taxes going up every time a new administration takes over the city.
I definitely say “No!” to some of the waste that is being proposed. Before Denverites vote, read each ballot issue very carefully. Remember it is not just on issue called 1A, it is nine different issues: 1A, 1B, 1C, 1D, 1E, 1F, 1G, 1H, 1I.

josephine you really shouldnt complain as good ole hick is just doing what he needs to, to provide the best in services for all the illigals he loves so much. if the illigals didnt require so many freebes from denver there could have been money there to take care of these issues, but the illigals take priority to citizens.

Illegal Canadian Free Trade Agreement: J-Loop should get some dough from Pat Bowlen. The Webb Dixiecrat Gang gave him the Mile High "NAFTA" Stadium, where Bowlen pimped and exploited all of America's taxpayers. Yes, I'm a sucker too. The biggest suckers, however, were the dixiecrats. Bowlen tricked them and threw his financial support to the GOP for their Iraq-NAM WAr. Bowlen hired St. Elway and Mastermind as his cheerleaders. Silly U/me! I didn't know local citizens could enter into foreign trade agreements (welfare), taxing all national taxpayers. I thought only congress could pull this off. Any federal political candidate with any backbone would promise to throw out this Halliburton stadium deal.

If the alphabet had more letters, then Hick the libdem would be asking for even more tax hikes. He simply ran out of letters! But like Hillary, he hasn't run out of "ideas" on how to separate you from your wallets.

Since already tax-burried voters won't run out of common sense and won't surrender their own personal fiscal responsibility--putting themselves above those (the gov.) who are supposed to be working for them--I bet both the Hick and Ritter tax proposaed tsunami will get the message loud and clear:

NO from A to Z!

Any new tax is too much...I want to throw tea into Chatfield reservoir!

Hank,
My guess is the people really dislike you. You are the Ann Coulter of Centennial.

Rick,

Most democrats, liberals, totalitarian dictators, welfare junkies, socialists, al-Qaeda, Nazis, communists, environuts and global warming alarmists hate me. They despise me.

Which one are you, Rick?

Posted by Hank on October 22, 2007 12:48 PM

On the contrary, Hank, al-Qaeda loves you and your party.

You've made them stronger and us less safe.

What's not for them to love?

Seriously Hank, bin Ladens number 2 enemy behind the US was Saddam. Taking him out was a gift from Bush to Osama. Everything Bush has done has been wrong. We should have stayed focused on Afghanistan and we would have destroyed al Quaeda.

I agree to vote no, on all the ballot issues put forth by ole hick. Especially, the issue with asking for more monies to build new libraries. Just a couple of years ago we didn’t have enough money to keep the current libraries open and even had to cut positions. Now, Hick wants to build new libraries—so where is the money going to come from to staff the new facilities?

Come on Hick….give us a break…stop giving out freebies to the illegal’s and put that money to better use for all the legal citizens who pay your salary.

Mayor Hickenlooper needs to present a case that the money will be spent efficiently and appropriately. Voters have not forgotten the Referendum C snow job.

Most of the sheeple around Denver have no idea what Ref C was or how they got screwed. They'll do it again and again until the libs are bounced out of schools. Graduates can't balance a checkbook, but they sure as hell have good self-esteem and know all the details of condoms.
