Wasteful marathon
Tuesday, October 30 at 11:10 AM

D.T. Dodson of Denver writes:

Because of traffic holdups caused by the running of the Denver Marathon (“Weather merciless to runners/7,500 endure rain, chill to tough out Denver Marathon,” Oct. 15), it took me one hour and 20 minutes to get from Ninth Avenue and Downing Street to East Colfax Avenue and Madison Street. That’s a 2.2-mile trip that usually takes seven minutes. Think of all the exhaust fumes my auto, among others, generated getting home from my Capitol Hill church.

READER COMMENTS

As a resident of Capital Hill, I had the forethought to leave my car parked that day. It is called planning.

Could you have not gone to services on Saturday night--or heaven forbid, actually walked to church?

Hey Dodson and 3:12, you are both whiney morons. Try walking your lazy fat a-- a little bit.

How much did your church contribute to the economy that day?

ALL of you are idiots and are the main problem with our country!

Wait a minute - 2:21 is absolutely correct! This "inconvenience" should not have come as a shock to D.T. Dodson.

Dodson is just another complainer.

3:12--

You couldn't "think" if your life depended on it. This is clearly demonstrated by your inane ramblings and lack of knowledge of the English language and how to use it correctly.

The issue at hand has nothing at all to do with CO2 or buying carbon credits. You are clearly not smart enought to figure that out. You, sir or madam, are an idiot and a fool.

Yor argument dear D.T. is sophmoric at best. It assumes you have the right to dictate the use of locomotion polution devices over a nonpoluting forms of getting from one place to the other. By the way, why did you not pray in church for immediate relief from the unacceptable circumstances that you, the true beliver, must suffer because of the heathens that made you not park your car because you did not make yourself aware that they were having one of their godless races on, oh my heavens, Your streets.
