Another botched election
This letter has not been edited.
Electronic ballots can not be verified with a paper trail, and thus can be 'fixed'.
Who cares if it takes a few days to count all the ballots, just do it right and honestly.
Defective voting machines, and no paper trail! Here comes another Democrat landslide!!!!
Posted by jgd777 on November 13, 2007 05:05 PMThe landslide of 2004? The irregularities that all went Bush's way in 2004? That type of landslide? Get over the party lines people or we will always be powerless....
Posted by Karl Cheney on November 13, 2007 06:50 PMThe goverment did this with an election yet you want us to trust them with our healthcare? No thanks, I'll use private insurance. I know I have to get off my butt, work for a living and not breed like a rabbit, but hey it's worth it.
Posted by on November 13, 2007 08:31 PMban electronic ballot machines, for those of you who do not know the ballot machines in question are supplied and supported by a comjpany from Venezuela and we all know that the dictator there hates America. so why should trust them, how about the two canidates for office have a pistol duel to see who takes office and that would be the one who lives.
Posted by on November 14, 2007 09:09 AMIt wasn't exactly a 'botched eleciton.' Botched would be if people were turned away from the polls, or if the lines were too long and they decided to leave rather than vote - which is what happened in 2006. As far as we know, every eligible voter who cast a ballot this year had that ballot counted. In reality, that's all that matters.
No matter what Denver did this time around, someone was going to take issue with it. As for the SWAT team coming in, the reason that happened is because they have the necessary background checks required to count the ballots. It was built into the contingency plan to call in re-enforcements from the police department if the counting took too long. The media just made a big stink about it because they were hungry to say that Denver screwed up our elections again.
Denver took their time counting the votes. I would rather have them do it accurately and with integrity, rather than rush the results so people can get instant gratification. We live in a time where people are used to instant gratification now, but when it comes to our elections, which would you rather...a thorough and accurate count or a rushed and possibly "botched" count?
