Better questions for candidates needed
Monday, November 5 at 1:58 PM

Ellyn Hilliard of Boulder writes:

I am still baffled by the debates and the questions that news commentators think are important to the public. After the MSNBC Democratic Debate I know more about Dennis Kucinish and his encounters with UFOs than I do about Hillary’s Health Care Plan, Obama’s Diplomatic Plans for Peace, and John Edwards Solution to the Social Security Crisis. Where is the follow up? There must be a more productive way to spend two hours with the potential leaders of our country than to allow them to slip through tough questions with a smile and a wave of the hand. I keep waiting to hear the kind of substance and common sense I heard from Ron Paul in the last MSNBC Republican debate. Come on Democrats, you can do better than that.

It's time for American citizens to stand up and demand answers. Why settle for the bull-crap they spew at us day after day.

ARE THEY THE STUPID ONES, OR ARE WE?

How about "Would you go after Osama Bin Laden?"

Even if he's just a "symbol", as Bush insists, it would be nice to off him just to stop those annoying videotapes from popping up. You know, Bush's whole "Dead or Alive" speech and all that. About as truthful as "Mission Accomplished".

Keith,
How did the "Democraps" cause all the problems? You guys were in control from '01 to '07, remember? Plenty of time to kick some ass and straighten America out. So what happened?

The answers given in these debates usually have little relation to the questions as asked.

How about asking candidates on both sides questions like:
What will you do to rein in spending?
What will you do to fix social security?
What will you do to fix Medicaid?
And them forcing them to answer them rather than dance around to a different topic.
Lets not have them tell us how we are going to increase spending on a government run health care plan, or how we should or will attack Iran and drain our national treasure into another debacle.

We need real answers to real problems here in the United States. I realize Health Care is an issue but if we implement a single payer system we are going to bankrupt this country and possibly never be able to recover financially.
