Fault lies not with ICE
Monday, November 12 at 10:00 AM

What’s wrong in Immigration and Customs Enforcement spokesman Carl Rusnok’s assertion that “the responsibility for the negative impacts of our worksite enforcement actions lies squarely on the shoulder of those who violate our immigration laws?” (“Study: Kids hit hard by Greeley raid,” Nov. 1.)

Absolutely nothing.

The only blame for the sufferings of family members of those arrested by ICE late last year lies squarely on the backs of the illegals who were arrested.

Are our local law enforcement officers responsible for the “negative impacts” on the children of American criminals?

Not at all. The police, as well as ICE officers, are to be commended, not criticized, for preserving our nation as one of law.

ICE should be givin an award for their service to this country. The police should be alllowed to shed the handcuffs the pro-illegal politicians in this state have locked onto them. They are preventing arrest and detainment of these dishonorable people by offering sanctuary to them.

Thank you ICE. Keep up the good work
don't let LaRaza or any other group
keep you from doing your job..you need to fed your families also.

LaRaza = RACIST

Posted by on November 12, 2007 01:20 PM

La Raza means "the race".

I wonder what race that is? Sounds kinda racist to me.

Posted by RickyLee on November 12, 2007 02:05 PM

Only racist morons like pro illegal groups are blaming ICE for seperating families.

the illegals KNEW the risks when breaking out laws.

I doubt that there are any policeman (or, especially, woman) who would complain about showing compassion to the children of illegal immigrants. The above posters simply sell our police short, don't give them enough credit. Shame on them.

Truth,

"Compassion for the children" is nothing more than a tactic being used by the open border, amnesty people. This "it's for the children" tactic has run it's course, time to come up with something new.

Our borders need to be secured and the companies hiring illegals need to be punished, fines and prison if necessary. Hey! "it's for the children"

Posted by jgd777 on November 12, 2007 05:03 PM

Truth, thank you for your compassion and true American attitude. Kindness to children, and comfort for the weak and hungry is what America is all about. Calling kindness to children a "tactic" is pure bigoted ignorance. Think, have you ever seen movies with subtitles. Often there cannot be an exact translation, contextual and conceptual allowances have to be made for a viewer to understand communications from one culture to another. "La Raza" is the same. To you, it is a racial supremecy issue. This is not how some of La Raza see it (Anglo American concept not ours). However, this tells a little about the thoughts and beliefs of the people writing in response to the original posting.

Zorro,

Using children to achieve your political goals goes far beyond any bigoted ignorance. The open border, amnesty people are using the compassion of our citizens to destroy this country. Everytime they want to deceive and cheat the general public we hear the same old BS "it's for the children"

The least the far left can do is stand up and say exactly what they want, a total socialist society controlled by the government, and the majority of the people reliant on the government for their financial needs and stop handing us this "it's for the children" garbage.

Posted by jgd777 on November 12, 2007 06:37 PM

America needs a lot more, and not less, of the "it's for the children" "tactic", even though that is a misnomer. Yes, it's for the children, but it's also for the future. What there is too much of is the "live for today" tactic, and the "what's in it for me" tactic, and the "I got mine" tactic.

Cut and paste

'In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag.. We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language.. and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people.'
Theodore Roosevelt 1907

Zorro,

You are either ignorant or lying. Ask the oppressed tribes in southern Mexico who regularly stage armed rebellions against the Mexican government whether they think racism is a Mexican concept.

Using children as an excuse for law breaking is a tactic. If parents are misusing their children by making them pawns in the immigration game, the fault doesn't lie with ICE. I do not speak or understand Spanish, I use English and the languages of my fore bearers.

While I don't know about La Raza, I do know about statements I have seen from other militant Hispanic groups . They sound racist to me.

Oh and one other thing. Not all Europeans are Anglos. Some are Spanish, some German, French, Andorran, Danish, Norwegian, Finish, Slavic, Polish,Russian,to name a few. If you keep making those generalizations, someone might accuse you of racism.

In fact, Anglo-Irish conflicts in the governance of Great Britain are an issue today, while I believe that Anglo Scottish conflicts have been mostly settled.

Don't call me Anglo. My family is from much further east.

Truth,
It is exactly for the future that immigration needs to be controlled. The US does not have the resources to support the entire population of the world. Living for today is exactly what got us into this immigration mess. People didn't look ahead and see the impact to schools and health care that an uncontrolled immigrant population would have. Legal immigration benefits this country greatly...illegal immigration tears this country down. We cannot afford to continue to provide health care and schooling to everyone who would like to live in this country...it just isn't possible. However, if we can fix the problem and shore up our own problems, maybe we can then provide the assistance that other countries need to provide services to their own citizens. The current system is a house of cards that is bound to come crashing down.

we should tar and feather all of the illegals and throw them back across the border

Posted by on November 12, 2007 07:30 PM

An interesting tactic...the use of children as human shields.

Posted by Jimminy on November 12, 2007 07:50 PM

But..But.. the children!! Look at Elvira Arellano
held up in a Chicago church!
Having the child speak for her..using THE
CHILD as a human SHIELD!!
Then got deported for the second time,
she left without him. There's no way I'd
leave my child in another country.
She thinks he'll have a better future,
the sureneos ms-13 may get a hold of him,
when he's older. SHE ..put him thru alot.

The children are growing up and becoming criminals. They are joining gangs, they are killing people. Why should I feel bad for them.

Why can't they take their choldren with them?
I have never heard that question answered.

freethinker, Mexico has its racism like anywhere else, but it is not against the Anglo as much as the dark indigenous person. The Raza includes them, according to all who use that term, but there is still terrible prejudice against them in Mexico. I was saying that the interpretation of that term without knowing its history or use, displays the racist/bigoted mind set that comes with the Anglo-American culture some people on this board display.

Posted by Zorro on November 12, 2007 08:52 PM

Zorro,

I am not sure how many times it has to be said and in how many ways. This issue has nothing to do with race, creed, color, nationality or any other factor other than legal and illegal.

Legal immigration is good!
Illegal immigration is bad!

TIME FOR ANOTHER REVOLUTION

Posted by RickyLee on November 13, 2007 06:03 AM

I think it is time for the 14th Admendment be
clear on whether it is being used for what it was meant to be.

Can't Congress or The Supreme Court clear this up once and for all?

If they define the border baby issue than they can deport the children too.

Posted by on November 13, 2007 06:46 AM

So by the pro-illegal folks the following scenario would be okay,
I am stuck living in Commerce City, the people in Cherry Creek have a far better life than I or my children have. SO, to fix my situation I am going to just move into any random house in Cherry Creek - move the resident that is already there to the basement, I will drive their car and do as I please. I know they have worked for what they but it's better than what I have and hey, it's for my child so this should be okay (better schools too!) I will all the way around by just taking what I want.
IT'S THEIR OWN FAULT!!!!!

Posted by Paul on November 14, 2007 08:29 AM

I find it dispicable that at a time when our country is at it's weekest (because of the mess in Iraq) that these criminals are able to slip in the back door and basically steal or country....and they did it all without crashing a plane into a building

Posted by SickOfIt on November 14, 2007 08:56 AM

Funny how the gov. says terrorists are such a huge threat we have to spend thousands of lives and hundreds of billions of dollars to fight it in Iraq, yet our wide open borders are of no concern at all.

Hard to fathom the hypocrisy...

Posted by RickyLee on November 14, 2007 10:01 AM

And the latest headlines are our OWN mayors of Texan cities are rallying against the fence being built. The ranchers are up in arms because it will limit access to the Rio Grande.....we need to enforce the laws and the numbers will decrease.....OR, I got an email this week saying we should take the 'gators that are running rampant in Florida and re-locate them to the Rio Grande...just kidding, don't come after me all you environmentalists. I know the 'gators would get sick from all the spicy food....lol.

Posted by -J- on November 14, 2007 10:17 AM

Of course the fault lies with ICE and their racist garbage tactics. Shame on them and shame on the United States.
