Gov. Ritter’s executive order
Wednesday, November 14 at 2:00 PM

Joe Felice of Aurora writes:

Why are you Republicans making such a fuss about Governor Ritter’s executive order extending collective-bargaining rights to state employees? Why are you so opposed to anything that benefits the working class? Relax, Chicken Little. The sky is not falling. (It did that when you took away no-fault insurance.) Governors issue executive orders all the time. I don’t recall the Democrats’ ever having such a tantrum over any of Bill Owens’ orders. The last time anybody made such a ruckus was in 1975, when Gov. Dick Lamm issued an executive order banning discrimination against gay people in the state personnel system. You thought the sky was falling then, too. To paraphrase a popular television commercial, “Y’all need to get eyeball to eyeball over the things that bring people together.” In other words, sit down, discuss your differences, and try to reach an amicable solution, just like ordinary people have to do all the time. And quit being so divisive.

hey joe all of you union guy will love it as it gives you the foot in the door to rape the tax payers for more money and lets not forget the right to strike and when it ends I am sure the deal will ask for back pay while they walked the picket lines to get more money.
if it was such a good idea why did he go through the back door? I guess he knows that other wise it would not have passed like he wanted for his union buddies.
the only chicken thing going on here is a dem who has to pay back the unions and couldnt do it up front so he hid behind an ex order.

Union monopolies, like all monopolies, are hostile to both consumers and taxpayers. Unions are productivity killers that worship at the altar of seniority, work rules, work breaks, benefits and vacations--they increase costs, increase prices, increase inflation and increase interest rates. Capital flees, new jobs are not created and incomes and consumprtions suffer. The economy loses.
Thank you Karl Marx.

Bottom Line U.A. W. == U Ain't Workin.' Is that what we want for Colorado? Ritter invited the camel to stick his head inside the tent. Where do you think that camel will soon be sleeping?

On Strike (it won't be long)...No snow removal today, DIA closed, pot-hole repair suspended!
Stick 'em up!

Atty Gen. Suthers is giving the Ritter sneak attack and political kickback a hard look (RMN, p. 11). One of the first things he's going to look at is if the "no strike " provision claimed by Ritter can really be inforced. Based on a 27 year old court decision, it may not be. Legislation may be required.

I also noticed in the same article how the CAPE and the AFSCME, the state's 2 largest unions, are exercising monopoly powers by conspiring together in order to insure an orderly carving-up of the spoils. Monopolies don't like competition, that's why they always generate higher costs. The next thing that we will hear about is their abusive--"or else" --recruiting tactics. Thugs never change how they conduct busibness.
