Gov. Ritter’s executive order for unions
Friday, November 16 at 2:00 PM

Kenneth A. Gansmann of Silverthorne writes:

Bill Ritter’s 11th executive order to recognize unions in Colorado State Government is a lot of smoke and mirrors and just his way to payback union leaders who helped fund his election campaign. Proponents of Ritter’s 11th hour executive order which circumvented normal legislative discussions say “It is so narrowly crafted that it affects only State employees.”
No, it affects all of us Colorado taxpayers. It is a little known and less publicized fact that the only growth in unions in the U.S. today is in federal and state governments - all funded by us taxpayers.
We need to put a stop to this right now!

Perhaps we need a constitutional amendment prohibiting workers from organizing. After all, they can't organize in many totalitarian states. We would want to make clear, of course, that everyone other than workers are free to organize. We would want to make clear that this is a restriction on the First Amendment provision about free speech.

Unions are just one more step toward socialism / communism.

Truth,

What I have always found somewhat amusing is the position taken by those who would have us believe THEY actually support the Consitution, while actively seeking to run the Nation into a fascist totaliarianism. They are deathly afraid of "socialism/communism" - something they actualy know NOTHING about - and constantly harp on their own fearful ignorance, to the exclusion of even the slightest approach to debate, discussion, or intelligent exploration of the subject.

But, that seems to be the "approved" party-line here these days; in spite of everything everyone else has learned from both history and current events concerning what their boogyman really is; and how it contains its own seeds of both economic and cultural failure.

One might think that the day of Chicken Little was now sensibly in the past. However . . . !

Ah! Well! Those who don't want to learn won't.
