Griego’s fast one
Thursday, November 1 at 12:01 AM

OK, got to admit it, Rocky columnist Tina Griego nearly had me “sucker punched” with “Rockies’ ‘mystical’ streak helps bring us all together,” her effort of Oct. 18.
My first reaction was: Wow! A far-left columnist is embracing the national pastime — maybe there’s hope for her yet. Then, reality struck: The only reason she wrote this “fluff” piece is that a number of Latinos play for the Rockies.
Does anyone think she would have written this column if the team were composed of whites, blacks and a Japanese guy? Not! You nearly had me fooled, Ms. Griego, but not quite.

I stopped reading her drivel 2 years ago.

good ole tina 'i love the water off the illegals' griego is not worth the ink on the newsprint.
she is writing all of these things so when the illegals come to do her job, and I would say do it better, she might have a chance to keep it as she only writes about their cause.

In simply calling herself a "Latina" she separates herself from the rest of us. I believe Latina means "Latin woman", this obliviously means she is obsessed with her DNA.

Now think for a moment if I went around calling myself a "Euroman", the kinds of things I would be accused of. I would be pummeled by what I call the RNX (Racist, Nationalist, and Xenophobe) attack.

No matter what justifications you can dredge up from the past or simply create out of thin air, it is NOT ok for every ethnicity EXCEPT ANGLOS to be proud of who they are.

White people did some bad things in the past. So has every other race on the face of this earth. It all depends on how far back you want to look. Does the event from 500 years ago trump that of 1000 or 2000 years ago? How much time must pass for it to be "forgiven"?

We are all humans, so we are ALL capable of evil, no matter what wrapper we have. NO EXCEPTIONS.

So tell me how this great effort to have "Whitey" atone for the sins of the long dead is justified? It is not fair nor is it moral.

There will be no healing for anyone unless the new rules are fair across the board for EVERYONE. When will be stop obsessing with our differences (celebrating diversity?) and celebrate what we have in common?

When will we be simply Americans? From the looks of things right now, perhaps not ever.

She's one of the reasons I cancelled my subscription to the RMN over a year ago.

Tina is a racist of the worst caliber. Having her drivel printed in the paper consitantly, she is always ILLEGALS FIRST. Poor and whoa is me. She is a socialist that wants a form of economical slavery enacted against all who are not of the hispanic persuasion. Meaning that hispanics get the freebeeis and all others pay thier way as well as the way of the hispanic.

The Hispanic community should be ashamed of supporting this racist.

Jimbo has some issues.

People complain and bitch and moan about writer and then state that they don't read the columns or they haven't read the columns in years. Reminds me of the Steve Martin routine where he sings "criticize things you don't know about"

What would people think if I walked around expressing that I am German and my way is the only correct way?

I have the feeling that if we took the computers out of the insane asylums we wouldn't get letters from most of the posters above.

I cancelled because of Vince Carroll and Mike Rosen.

Hey Truth...are you the kettle or the pot?

Truth I am still waiting on your suggestions on illegal immigration?

Posted by Fresh on November 1, 2007 08:33 AM

Yup! She simply can't give it up; and I personally find the constant grinding nauseating. Since Temple took over the News has constantly pushed the illegal immigration/pity-the-poor Mexicans stuff down everyone's throat. Very little, if any, balance. It's as if the majority of Americans who oppose it simply don't exist. At one time I favored some form of amnesty - but no more!

11:04 AM,

I have never thought of it that way! Now I see the light. Your wisdom has shown me how horrible it is to care what happens to America. Thank you for opening my eyes.

Viva Che!

Is this the same Griego who co-piloted the Dennis Kucinich UFO to earth ? That same Griengo?

Posted by Hank on November 1, 2007 12:46 PM

duh I think there are some Blacks, Japanese and Whites on the team. Letter writer is just showing his own disability at treating someone he disagress with respectfully.

Why shouldn't the state's largest paper pay someone who writes about issues important to a large population of possible subscribers?

Perhaps if you identify the real source of your outrage you might learn something about yourself..

Truth knows alot about asylums..it's time for your meds isn't it truth?? Time to lay down and quit drooling Truth. Let someone else play on the computers now Truth. Nighty night Truth.

Mike A.,
You are so right!
This form of amnesty is coming in all different directions, like sneaked in every bill they want to pass.
