A silent protest
Sen. Dave Schutheis, R-Colorado Springs, is asking several fellow Republicans to wear black armbands this week to protest President Barack Obama's decision to end a funding ban on overseas groups that perform abortions.
The executive order, signed last week, also overturns an 8-year-old funding ban on organizations that mention abortion as an option to pregnant women. Pro-choice groups hail the move, but pro-lifers say that Obama has gone back on a campaign promise to try to cut down on the number of abortions.
Schultheis will place a black band on his left arm this week in what he described as being "in the tradition of Martin Luther King, and as a silent, non-violent protest." His wife, Sandra, was set to purchase the material Saturday, and Schultheis asked several members of the Republican Study Committee of Colorado, the conservative wing of the party, to join him.
"I am terribly upset with Obama's decision to end abortion-related funding restrictions and to use my tax dollars to support the murder of innocent unborn babies," he said in an e-mail.

Really cool post. I do agree with almost everything you talked about, but not quite all of it. Let's say I agree to disagree on a few points. Good stuff though.
