It's not a Fu Manchu

One of the favorite new conversation pieces of the legislature is freshman Rep. Randy Baumgardner's mustache - a big, bushy piece that curls around the sides of his lips and runs down to his chin.

Baumgardner, R-Hot Sulphur Springs, insists it's not a Fu Manchu mustache, the tough-looking style made famous by Red Sox pitcher Luis Tiant in the 1970s. It's just a plain old 'stache, he says.

"It's just a mustache. I've been growing it since I was 18 years old," the rancher said. "It's just goes with the image: the cowboy, the ranch."
