Pay up

Rep. Frank McNulty of Highlands Ranch fought against allowing tolling on already existing roads. He lost, but got a big surprise when he returned to his office.

McNulty shares a third-floor suite with a number of fellow Republicans. His aide, Hillary Reed, shown at left, marked up the floor as it it were a road and put signs everywhere.

"Toll, please pay $1.95."

"Toll, please pay $10."

"Toll, please pay right arm."

The sign right before McNulty's desk read, "Toll, please pay first-born child."

McNulty's famous laugh could be heard throughout the office.
