Elway's executive chef Tyler Wiard, who was engaged in an ankle mangle Thursday night when he fell on some outside steps at a friend's house, was supposed to have had surgery to mend the limb on Friday. When he got to the doc, however, it was determined that the ankle was too swollen. I talked to Tyler Monday afternoon before his scheduled surgery at 4 that day.

Denver Restaurant Week got off to a devinely delish start Saturday night with anecdotal results that tickled many a tastebud. The fourth annual discount dining week - which offers three-course meals at $52.80 for two or $26.40 for one at nearly 200 Metro-area eateries - earned a big fork's up from diners and restaurateurs I talked to over the weekend.

Tyler Wiard, executive chef at Elway's Cherry Creek, fell on stairs outside of a friend's home Thursday and broke his ankle. Surgery is scheduled for 3 this afternoon (Friday).

 

Colorado Black Journalists Association president Amani Ali may have acted prematurely when he sent a letter last week demanding that Denver's 7 management not lay off long-time anchor Bertha Lynn.

Bertha Lynn, the venerable anchor on Denver's 7, could be signing off the air, if the allegations written in a letter from the Colorado Association of Black Journalists are true.
