Denver's fab five return to James Beard House

The Denver Five, a fab gang of culinary tastebud tantalizers, make a return trip to the Big Apple May 13 to reinstill to New Yorkers and other non-believers that there's creative cuisine in Colorado.

During last year's visit to the James Beard House - an invite-only honor for chefs - Denver's Troy Guard (TAG), Tyler Wiard (Elway's), Matt Selby (Vesta, Steuben's), Food Network Challenge host and D-Bar Desserts owner Keegan Gerhard and Goose Sorensen (Solera) wowed the sold-out crowd.

The Five foodies will return this year with LoLa's main man Jamey Fader subbing in for Sorensen, who is up to his eyeballs running his one-man show at Solera.

Metro-area dwellers will have a chance to sample all that the fab Five have to officer during a five-course, five-wine charity walk-about dinner at 6 p.m. Jan. 27 at Roth Distributing in Aurora. Proceeds go to the Doug Fleischmann scholarship fund at Johnson & Wales University.
