Cheerleading a contact sport?
* In case you didn't see the story about cheerleading being deemed a contact sport by the Wisconsin Supreme Court, you can check it out here: http://sports.espn.go.com/highschool/rise/news/story?id=3864291
Give us your take on the court ruling. Since cheerleading is classified as a sport, and not an activity, by the Colorado High School Activities Association, we assume that reasoning also would apply in the Colorado courts. What do you think?
* And this video is yet another instance why we love high school sports. You don't often see this kind of spirited action at any other level. The crowd reaction shows it all.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8gld-INU-8I&eurl . That's some clutch shooting on both sides.
* For all the recruiting diehards out there: ESPNU will headline ESPN's coverage of National Signing Day with a nine-hour special on Feb. 4, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The show will feature live player announcements, analysis, news and highlights of top recruits from around the country.
* The Regis Jesuit girls basketball team remained ranked No. 20 nationally by ESPN. Broomfield dropped a spot to 46th, while ThunderRidge remained at 49. Guess the experts who put these rankings together have never heard of Highlands Ranch, the three-time defending big-school state champions.

Oh cheerleading is a contact sport alright! For women in both high school and college, two-thirds of all severe sports injuries (from 1982 to 2007) were related to cheerleading, according to the National Center for Catastrophic Sport Injury Research. Read the national center's guidelines to help prevent cheerleading injuries at:

If the bimbo cheerleaders are getting hurt performing an absolutely mindless function I would hate to fathom what would happen to them if they actually played a sport! "Flight for Life" would be on speed dial!

Cheer leading is a sport!! They work hard to do all the stunts they perform. They do get hurt, and Flight for Life has not been called. Practice makes perfect, and our cheerleaders are not "bimbos". More than 80% of the squad has a 4.0. I think "Jersey" must be mindless. Try going to a game, you will see that they are not all blonde; or bimbos.
