Former Adam's Mark getting Sheraton signs
TThe first phae of the former Adam's Mark hotel rebranding as the first Sheraton in Denver kicked off today.
Sheraton Denver signs are being placed on top of the 27-story from today through Monday.
The hotel, is the largest in Colorado with 1,225 rooms, including 92 suites, and with 133,000 square feet of meeting space, was purchased by Chartres Lodging for $176 million.
Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. wasw named as the management compnay in February.
â€œThis is an extensive process,â€? Mike Ehmann, the hotelâ€™s general manager, said in a statement released today. He said that the hotel has contracted for a five-person team to work for an entire week with cranes, wenches and hoists to get each 8â€™ x 10â€™ letter to the top of the building.
The new sign installation is part of Chartres Lodging plans to spend more than $238 million to renovate, rebrand and reposition the five former Adamâ€™s Mark hotels in Denver, Dallas, Indianapolis, Buffalo and St. Louis over the next 18 months.
What is now the Denver Sheraton opened in 1961 as a Hilton.
