Morales combines with 3 for no-hitter

LHP Franklin Morales made his first start at Triple-A Colorado Springs one to remember.

Morales combined with three relivers to no-hit Albuquerque, Flordia's Triple-A affiliate, in a 5-1 victory in Colorado Springs. Morales worked five innings and did sturggle with command, walking five, but did not allow a hit.

The only run scored in the fourth when Albuquerque loaded the bases with two walks sandwiched around an Ian Stewart throwing error. Paul Hoover delivered a sacrifice fly.

Morales was sent down by the Rockies to clean up mechanical problems. He had been working in extended spring training with organization pitching coordinator Jim Wright before being activated by the Sky Sox. Morale threw 90 pitches, 49 for strikes, in his five innings of work.

He was followed to the mound by Chris George, who worked 1 2/3 innings, Matt Daley, who worked 1 1/3 innings, and Steven Register, who worked the ninth.

Stewart was 2-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI.
