Rockies seeing in blue 8-18

Big test for the evolution of RHP Ubaldo Jimenez as a top of the line starter tonight.

Jimenez is coming off a struggle inhis last start, against Arizona. ``He looked mor elaong the lines of April than he did June or July,'' said manager Clint Hurdle. ``It's time to get back into the right mold.''

That's the key for Jimenez. There are going to be lapses. It's minizing the lapses that is the difference between the level of performer. The less lapses the more stardom.

``Guys who are elite playes and pitchers are able to recover quicker than I did or a lot of other players did,'' said Hurdle.

AFTER SWEEPING Washington, the Rockies are staying with a 1-2 lineup punch of Clint Barmes and Willy Taveras. Yorvit Torrealba is catching again Monday. The Rockies want to get a strong test of Torrealba's left knee before sending C Adam Melhuse back to Triple-A Colorado Springs. A move is likely by the end of the week when OF Scott Podsednik will come off the disabled list.
