Helton hits
Todd Helton said he was "a lot better" Friday than he was exactly one month ago when he sat down with this reporter and spoke about his recovery from arthroscopic back surgery Sept. 30.
"I'm starting to hit," said Helton, adding that was "a little sore" like his teammates but in a good way, welcome really, after dealing with lower back woes last season when after July 2 he was limited to two pinch hitting appearances. Helton said he began hitting this week.
