Metallica tickets on sale now

Metallica's great new album Death Magnetic is a return to form, and plenty of it will be played when the band hits the Pepsi Center on Nov. 4. According to the band tickets don't go on sale till 10 a.m. Saturday, but they're actually available right now at Ticketmaster.com. The show will be in-the-round with a general-admission floor and reserved seats on the side. At the time I'm posting this plenty of great seats are available.

Honestly, as much as I respected these guys in the day, I'm not sure their show would be worth going to now. I saw them in the early 90's, and then again in the late 90's, and there was a dramatic change in their energy and competency on stage.

I think I'll pass, although it is tempting.

Distubed, 5 Finger Death Punch, Slipknot, as well as a host of other bands already do what Metallica should be doing. Metallica of 1989 couldn't hold a candle to Metallica 1986 and it has only gotten worse since. I understand all in inward reflections they have done but when are they going to quit mourning Cliff Burton & truly honor his memory with something worthy. Garage Days Revistited was cool but the last great album was Master of Puppets. Motley Crue takes Comeback Album of the Year honors for Saints Of Los Angeles. I now know why Led Zepplin hung it up after John Bonham died.

Let me say that I've been a fan of Metallica since Master of Puppets. Without question, the greatest "metal" band of all time in my opinion. They have not produced the kind of quality since Justice however they continue to put on a GREAT concert. Considering they've been doing this since 1982 and all of the band members are approaching the half century mark (if they're not there already), I wouldn't expect them to energize they way they did when I saw them at Red Rocks in 1989. If Disturbed, 5 Finger Death Punch and Slipknot are around in 15 to 20 years, I'd be curious to see if they would have the same intensity they have today. This concert would be a great investment and money well spent if you like this type of music. I have my tix and can't wait. And let me add that the new album is a good effort from the boys. Far better then St. Anger, Load, Re-load and the Black Album. I've listened to a few tracks and I like!!
