Drive By Truckers have the best song for hard times
Brighter Than Creation's Dark is easily one of the best albums of 2008, and it just gets better upon each listen. It's full of songs of hope and songs of desperation. You and Your Crystal Meth is chilling as the singer watches a former friend succumb to addiction:
The song I keep coming back to, though, is The Righteous Path, an ode to keeping on even when times are darkest. This could have been a Springsteen song and is on par with his best work. Drive By Truckers takes a great lyric and tie it to an urgent Neil Young-style guitar rocker. Great stuff.
