Foley panel: GOP didn't protect pages
Republicans should probably have known years ago that Foley's conduct was inappropriate:
"The Investigative Subcommittee finds a significant number of instances where members (of Congress), officers or employees fails to exercise appropriate diligence and oversight, or should have exercised greater diligence and oversight, regarding issues arising from the interaction between former Rep. Mark Foley and current or former House pages," the report said.On balance, investigators said evidence supports the conclusion that Hastert's top aide had been told about Foley's conduct in late 2002 or early 2003. The aide, Scott Palmer, flatly denied to reporters that he was told that long ago. In testimony to the committee, he said, "I believe it didn't happen. I don't have any recollection of it."

Lets hope that Democrats can even approach that standard of care in oversight of their members who have done much more with subordinates they deal with in Congress. Seems like a hollow criticism of Repubs knowing that gay Democrat congressmen have actually had sexual relationships with teen-age pages.

A Republican congressman went through that process at the same time for having sex with a female underage page. He was standing right next to the guy as they were censured SIMULTANEOUSLY.

"On July 14, 1983 the House Ethics Committee concluded that Rep. Dan Crane (R-Ill.) and Rep. Gerry Studds (D-Mass.) had engaged in sexual relationships with minors, specifically 17-year-old congressional pages.[1] In Crane's case, it was a 1980 relationship with a female page and in Studds's case, it was a 1973 relationship with a male page. Both representatives admitted to the charges and the committee recommended reprimand for the two.[2]"
