Now that is a truly great idea, the closest thing to a real debate in years. But I don't think that I will be able to type fast enough in order to really participate. I'm sure that TT will be able to pick those empty suits, and empty pants suits, apart without me.

I just love spouting whales and harpoons!

I didnt watch the debate, thought I do know several of their policies. I know why Hillary would have said that. I think you are perhaps mistaken in the case of Richardson, though he (Like Hillary) may be saying we need to maintain a small force over there. Either way, interpreting that as a Bush win is insane for several reasons.

    A) It dosent mean they support Bush's stance. Again, if they are saying we need to maintain a small force for anti-terrorism raids and in an advisory role, thats not saying "Stay the Course".

    B) In reality, its "Bush -15" even if you were to admit he got a point here, because he was so far in the negative to begin with. Failed policies and stupid mistakes based on idiotic ideology count just as much as your imaginary support from Dems.

Into the Wild was excellent by the way. Penn didn't go Stone on everyone and keep to the book and family details.

So how many kids do you think will follow in McCanless' foot steps and end up as bear bait?

I don't know H...how many kids dropped what they were doing and rolled out on drug-fueled cross country road trips after reading On the Road, Naked Lunch or Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas? How many guys suddenly started bootlegging Coors across the Mississippi after seeing Smokey and the Bandit? Speaking of Burton...did deaths of bow fishing river runners skyrocket after Deliverance?

If you read the book, you'll find it pretty obvious that McCandless didn't know the first thing about backcountry survival...he was a surburban kid from Virginia. I'm not saying he didn't have a unique perspective on living life to the fullest...but the book made no bones about making it clear that he didn't really know what he was doing in the Alaskan wilderness.

I am out collecting berries close by and shall return this evening. Thank you, Chris McCandless. August?"

    Anonymous 12:25 and 7:10,

Any proof? Of course not, your just finding an "opportunity" at smear tactics. You'll find that the issue of opposition and outrage against sanctuary cities doesn't follow party lines. Democrats, Republicans, Independents- Americans of all ethnicities are fed up with small special interest groups declaring their cities "sanctuary cities.

But, you already know that. Hence your tactics.

From the El Paso Times- El Paso, TX . 9-28-2007
    Illegal immigration

It worries me that people in this part of the country think that an illegal or undocumented immigrant has rights to be in this great country of ours.

They are not able to tell the difference between an immigrant who was inspected and admitted and one who entered illegally.

An illegal alien is just what is means, AN ILLEGAL ALIEN, a person who has not been inspected and admitted legally and is therefore deportable. There are hundreds of thousands of immigrants waiting their turn to enter this country legally and they are waiting in their country.

Why should we go out of our way to accommodate one who was not legally admitted?

Any person who assists an illegal alien to evade removal or deportation should be held accountable for his/her actions and brought before a court of law.
