One freaky-looking horse

Must admit I haven't paid much attention to the new Mustang sculpture at DIA - until I took a pre-dawn trip to the airport this morning.
With blue skin and glowing red eyes, that is one freaky-looking horse; especially since it's one of the last things you see before you make the big turn into the terminal.
The big blue Mustang was installed about six weeks ago.
Seen it? What do you think? Is it more startling at night than in broad daylight?

This is what a Denver Bronco should look like. Very strange Very wild and invincible.

I guess some people think that S--t thrown against canvas is also art.
What a waste of tax payers dollars.
I wonder how many out of towners that this thing freaks out when they drive to or from DIA.

I was at DIA last week and missed the whole thing. That picture looks really bizarre though. How much money went into this thing?

We should be careful about criticizing the work. It was done by a hispanic artist. To denigrate his work would be racist.
That he was chosen to commission the piece appears also due to the fact that he was hispanic. This is what happens when the race of the artist is a criteria for the project.

I love Stang. We need three more to complete the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse (Book of Revelations). Apocalypse would be a great name for Bronco down linemen. Stang would sure rattle visiting teams arriving at DIA.

I for one think its a ballsy beautiful sculpture that has definitely gotten attention of everyone.
I actually think we need more art that really makes you feel and has intensity.
I think those sinister illuminati/new world order paintings with the Gas mask guy and the coffin are a lot creepier.... (but also like them)
Not just a bunch of flowers in a vase in a painting on the wall. (I hate still life art)

This thing is rediculous. It actually frightens my 3 yr old daughter. We live by the airport and she loves planes. She used to love going to DIA to pick me up when coming home from a biz trip or going to pick up a traveling family member. Now she hates going because of this stupid horse. I love art and music and I do see this as a piece of "art." It is very impressive and definitely illicits an emotional response but this is an airport, not an art museum and it should not be forced upon people, especially children. Someone please run it over with a tank. :-)

This sculpture is SSOOO ugly. It's creepy, demonic and a total waste of money. It's the last thing I would want to see driving in the middle of the night to the airport. Especially since it killed the artist! What it's haunted too??

This is a triumph. Blucifer should remain here for eternity. None of you people know anything about it nor the artist who created it. Your frail little minds can't handle a new concept. I am not surprised in the least of your hasty judgments and harsh criticisms but please take the time to see what this is all about. I bet not a single one of you know that the artist/sculptor Luis Jimenez was killed while creating this, do you? See for yourself.

Next time, think before you speak, because you all just shat all over someone elses vision and self-expression, which obviously, all of you fear so strongly. Try and open your eyes to the world, and you may find the "happiness" that's promised to you by your "lord jesus christ" or whatever other imaginary friend you believe in.
Cheers!

i think it should stay. as demonish as it is, its a meaningful sculpture. but i dislike how its in the middle of a field they should put it somewhere else.
