Lacy clears family in JonBenet's murder

jbrrtl.jpg

The same folks who gave you John Mark Karr, have now cleared the Ramsey family of involvement in the death of JonBenet Ramsey.

On Wednesday, Boulder District Attorney Mary Lacy announced that a new method of collecting and analyzing DNA generated powerful forensic evidence that an unidentified man murdered 6- year-old JonBenet in her home on Christmas night 1996.

Lacy also gave JonBenet's father, John Ramsey, a written apology, expressing deep regret for contributing in any way to the public perception that someone in the Ramsey family had committed the crime.

"No innocent person should have to endure such an extensive trial in the court of public opinion, especially when public officials have not had sufficient evidence to initiate a trial in a court of law," Lacy's letter said.

John Ramsey, a software entrepreneur who now lives in Michigan, said Wednesday he is hopeful the killer will be found based on the DNA evidence.

"I think the people that are in charge of the investigation are focused on that, and that gives me a lot of comfort," he told 9News. He added: "Certainly we are grateful that they acknowledged that we, based on that, certainly could not have been involved."

What do you think? Do you trust this new DNA evidence? Does the way the case has been handled give you any confidence in what Boulder authorities say? Has the Ramsey family been unfairly villified? Do you think JonBenet's killer will ever be found?

What an UN comedy of errors, the whole thing makes me sick, and trust me, I will NEVER step foot in Denver, Colorado where most the people wear army boots and have a half a brain. YUK is what it's all about there. Bunch of wanna be earth people. Pull up the cops and D.A. workers p-pants, and you'll see Jedd Clampett boots. That's all they are. Pasty had so much more class than any of those broads in Colorado, and here she had a hard time being accepted into their world, hello? She didn't wear big muddy boots.

Marty Lacy bungled this murder from day one and is now just clearing her own arse as she is on her way out of office.
Mary Lacy said herself that no one is cleared of Murder until there is a conviction when she cut John Mark Karr loose. (Another Mary Lacy fiasco to protect the Ramseys and take the spotlight off them)
Mary Lacy will go down as the very worst D.A.in the History of Colorado D.A.'s.
Ritter is not far behind with his "agriculture trespass" scam and his pursuance of trying to send an outstanding border agent to prison and stockpiling him with a huge amount of attorney fees. Don't forget his unconstitutional Tax freeze.
Mary Lacy seems to be scared of high profile people who commit murder.
She wasn't even going to charge the Midyettes with killing that little baby in Boulder because his daddy owns half of pearl street mall.
It took having it go Nation wide before she did anything about it.
Mary Lacy in an incompetent fool who has embarrassed the people of Colorado..so has Ritter.

Ritter ran when confronted about Jessica Law while the other Governors of States that do not have it said they would definitely sign it if put in front of them. Not Ritter.
For those that don't know, Jessicas Law is a mandatory 25 years for child molesters.

Yea I think it is classy to slut dress your own 6 yr old daughter up and pimp her around like she is some kind of showgirl so you can relive your own self in her.
That is real classy, I also thought it classy how they were more interested in hiring an attorney to cover their arse instead of focusing on finding the killer.
The Ramseys know who the killer was, they were more interested in leaving town.
You might want to research this case before you go calling Coloradans rednecks because it just shows how stupid you are..please, do not come to Colorado.

Interesting that non Ramsey DNA didn't clear the family 10 years ago but matching non Ramsey DNA clears them now. One sample of DNA may be planted but certainly not two. The only one the DA is letting off the hook is her own department and the Boulder police. Anyone who really believes the intruder theory, and the notion that all this went on while all family members slept, is easily fooled.

The DNA findings do not explain how the writer of the "ransom" note apparantly knew the exact amount of John Ramsey's Christmas bonus (it was the precise amount demanded) and also don't explain how or why the author included a reference to John Ramsey's "good southern common sense." Ramsey's from Michigan, but that reference was a little family joke. How did the killer know these two facts? Or was it just coincidence that he included them in the note?

I always pictured Colombo investigating this crime, and could see him quizzing Patsy about the pen used to write the ransom note being put back where it was found. I could see Colombo searching for a pen to take notes and telling Patsy that his wife is always telling him to put things back where he found them so he won't lose them. And Patsy would say, maybe your wife killed my daughter.

But the reason I thought they were guilty was partly due to the press conference held a day or two after the murder. The Ramsey's lawyer played news tape taken the day after the murder that showed melted snow. The lawyer proclaimed the police were wrong when they said there were no footprints in the snow, but anyone who has lived in Colorado for more than a winter knows that morning snow can melt by noon. And I remembered it snowed the night of the murder because we went skiing at Eldora that next day, when we heard of the murder. Now, I think they may have had a bad lawyer, just like those people who had their property stolen by the judge and his city counsel wife.

    History Buff,

To address the question of the footprints specifically:

The police theory (or at least the Steve Thomas theory, which is essentially the same thing) is that Patsy Ramsey left the house that night to dispose of various items, then returned.
Of course, her footprints were never found.

The whole "missing footprints" issue was kind of a laugh, because the police themselves never thought the lack of footprints was significant.

As sharp as you are, History Buff, I'm surprised you got stuck on that point.

When Lin Wood threatened to sue the Boulder police she was able to divert this, therefore the police files remain confidential and not open to discovery. She diverted the law suit by cozying up to the Ramseys and Lin Wood. No law suit. Mary Lacy was praised by the Ramseys. She even attended Patsy Ramsey's funeral at her own expense-- so this was a "personal" visit, not official. The community should have been outraged. Her final gift to the Ramseys was this exhoneration based on some very very weak minute amounts of DNA found on the victim's clothing which could have come from anyone or anywhere. The residents of Boulder County should be ashamed of this behavior.

You misunderstood what I said. The issue of the footprints was one of the first things the Boulder police told to the media. Then, the lawyer for the Ramseys called a news conference and played news reel footage showing lack of snow. I thought the Ramseys were trying to get people to believe there was no snow, so how could there be footprints? I thought it was a deliberate attempt to mislead, which I blamed on the Ramseys. If they wanted to find their daughter's killer, why would they try to flim-flam the public and the police? In retrospect, I think it was their lawyer's decision, and it ironically threw suspicion on his clients instead of doubt on the police, and it reinforced the image of the Ramseys as being elitists who think common people are too stupid to know the climate where they live.

Michael Helgoth wrote the ransom note with a Sharpie he found in the Ramsey kitchen.
JonBenet met Michael Helgoth on a family outing in the Summer of 1996. Michael Helgoth worked on the sailboat as a deckhand. This is where the murder of JonBenet Ramsey really started from. The killer of JonBenet Ramsey worked at the same Marina as Michael Helgoth, but on a different sailboat, this is where they meet. Michael Tracey said there were five people who warranted a second look, JonBenet's killer was listed at number 3. Michael Helgoth had drawn the draft quality drawings of floor plans to several parts of the Ramsey house, including the spiral staircase where he left the ransom note. Michael Helgoth planned the kidnapping because burglaries were risky and didn't pay well. He didn't count on his partner raping the girl and killing her in the process. The Boulder Colorado Police Department missed the STOLEN Vehicle outside the Ramsey for over four days! The vehicle had a STOLEN license plate from a similar truck. SBTC Stands for
    S.anta B.arbara T.ennis C.lub
Michael Helgoth owned a cap and a shirt and both had SBTC on them. The truck also had a dull pocket knife that belonged to Michael Helgoth. The Duct Tape found in the truck was IDENTICAL to the tape found on JonBenet's mouth, BECAUSE IT WAS THE SAME TAPE! Short pieces of rope and a partial coil of rope was IDENTICAL to the rope that was used to bind the arms of JonBenet Ramsey, BECAUSE IT WAS THE SAME ROPE!
Victory! was taken from a pair of pants found in the van. The Victory pants belonged to Michael Helgoth. Michael Helgoth was the "Mastermind" behind this kidnapping, he didn't count on his partner losing control and raping the girl, when JonBenet Ramsey woke up from the Tazer attack. CSI photograph of the dead Michael Helgoth lying dead on his couch, guess what is on the floor next to him? A pair of Hi Tec Hiking Boots! The same pair he wore the night of the murder! In the same CSI photograph on a table near his head is a Tazer! Michael owned SEVERAL of them! The Boulder Police Department took as evidence a couple of T-shirts and a black leather motorcycle vest belonging to JonBenet's killer.(His DNA are on them!) Michael Helgoth and JonBenet's killer was arrested on a suspicion of burglary charge! The Boulder Police Department have the killer's name on file! A rental list of movies at Michael Helgoth's neighborhood store lists movies that Michael rented that matched movie phrases mentioned in the ransom note! The stolen truck outside of the Ramsey home had SEVERAL SETS OF PRINTS OF BOTH PERPS! RUN THEM!
