Obama Invesco speech: come early, call voters on your cell
Barack Obama's campaign is organizing the world's largest phone bank for voter registration among early arrivals for his acceptance speech at Invesco Field at Mile High.
The move to the Invesco Field at Mile High stadium for the convention's final night next month - at an additional cost of $5 million - will capture a huge crowd the Obama campaign plans to put to work. They'll be armed with data gleaned through "microtargeting" unregistered voters the campaign believes are ripe to back Obama if pressed to get on board."If we do this right, we'll be unbeatable," said Steve Hildebrand, the Obama adviser overseeing the effort.
One key to Obama's victory plan is to expand the electorate, bringing in more young voters, minorities, suburban women, seniors on fixed incomes and people who have been disaffected by politics and might respond to the freshman Illinois senator's message of change over the more experienced Republican John McCain.
"What has won elections for 200 years is a neighbor talking to a neighbor, some peer talking to a peer," said Obama campaign manager David Plouffe. "People need other people to do their validating, especially young voters who are more resistant to ads and mainstream media reports."
Enter the 75,000 people who will have to come hours early for Obama's acceptance speech to get through security, most carrying cell phones. As they settle in their seats, campaign aides will be on stage asking them to text message their friends and use call sheets to get people to register. "There will be a lot of idle time. We put idle people to work," Hildebrand said.

So just keep it up there, 'Crotch...we'll always have plenty of oil and it will always remain cheap. And while you're at it, why not lobby to bring back 8-Track tapes, this will save you the expense of buying new stereo equipment (that means Hi-Fi to your generation)

Case study in wingnuttery #1: Who actually is an ignorant ass? Sasquitchy? Or Obama?
Evidence:
From http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/maintain.shtml
"You can improve your gas mileage by around 3.3 percent by keeping your tires inflated to the proper pressure. Under-inflated tires can lower gas mileage by 0.4 percent for every 1 psi drop in pressure of all four tires. Properly inflated tires are safer and last longer."
"You can improve your gas mileage by 1-2 percent by using the manufacturer's recommended grade of motor oil. For example, using 10W-30 motor oil in an engine designed to use 5W-30 can lower your gas mileage by 1-2 percent. Using 5W-30 in an engine designed for 5W-20 can lower your gas mileage by 1-1.5 percent. Also, look for motor oil that says "Energy Conserving" on the API performance symbol to be sure it contains friction-reducing additives."
"Fixing a serious maintenance problem, such as a faulty oxygen sensor, can improve your mileage by as much as 40 percent."
From ww.eia.doe.gov
"The size of the underlying resource base. Because there has been little petroleum drilling or exploration in ANWR, there is little first-hand knowledge regarding the petroleum geology of this region. The USGS oil resource estimates are based largely on the geologic conditions that exist in the neighboring State lands. Consequently, there is considerable uncertainty regarding both the size and quality of the oil resources that exist in ANWR. Thus, the potential ultimate oil recovery and potential yearly production are uncertain. "
"The projections in the OCS access case indicate that access to the Pacific, Atlantic, and eastern Gulf regions would not have a significant impact on domestic crude oil and natural gas production or prices before 2030. Leasing would begin no sooner than 2012, and production would not be expected to start before 2017. Total domestic production of crude oil from 2012 through 2030 in the OCS access case is projected to be 1.6 percent higher than in the reference case, and 3 percent higher in 2030 alone, at 5.6 million barrels per day. For the lower 48 OCS, annual crude oil production in 2030 is projected to be 7 percent higher—2.4 million barrels per day in the OCS access case compared with 2.2 million barrels per day in the reference case (Figure 20). Because oil prices are determined on the international market, however, any impact on average wellhead prices is expected to be insignificant."
So, Obama says check your tire pressure and oil, with gives guaranteed benefits regarding gas mileage.
Oil production from ANWR is, according to the government, unknown. It is also years away from recovery whatever the amounts may be. No guaranteed gain whatsoever.
OCS drilling "would not have a significant impact on domestic crude oil and natural gas production or prices before 2030." NO benefit currently AT ALL!
Conclusion; Sasquatchy is the ignorant idiot, and Obama is right.
Have a nice day!

You do the math as to who will win in Nov...
I even see where Pelosi called for a vacation instaed of staying in session and discuss the energy crisis.
Udall skipped his vote which would have been the deciding vote to keep them in session.
Just goes to show Democrats DO NOT want to lower prices.
Pelosi won't even call a vote for drilling...hmmm wonder why, could it be that it will pass?
It did before but B. Clinton vetoed it.

Shaggy, Ive already told you about this bs. When its in favor of McCain, you think an single issue will tip the ballance (drilling). When that single issue is against McSame (Iraq) you just ignore it. Double standard.
"I even see where Pelosi called for a vacation instaed of staying in session and discuss the energy crisis."
LOL! Bush has been on vacation more than any president EVER. Where is your outrage Shaggy? Right, hes a Republican. Awful jackass.

What part of our own governments statements didnt you get? Apparently, all of it. DRILLING WONT DO SHIT UNTILL 2030, and it wont have a measurable effect then either! Are you really this stupid? The info is right there, yet you keep insisting that drilling will help? Retard.
"It did before but B. Clinton vetoed it."
He was just keeping the policy that Reagan and Bush 1 developed. Bitch about them.

Wrong, not sure where you are getting your info but most Californians are for drilling off shore.
They are tired of high gas prices too.

So BO has found more oil in bloated tires and well greased engines than will come out of ANWR or the OCS? Has BO found the new Saudi Arabia right under our butts?
Naturally, BO (or is it really Yogi Berra) knows that all tires on the road are improprtly inflated and that all engines have been neglected and are inefficient. BO position is based Americans being stupid. And mandatory smog tests insure needed tune-ups for older vehicles while newer cars require NO tune-ups and very infrequent oil changes. The BO gasoline solution yields exactly 00.00 gallons of new gasoline--nothing, nada, zero, zilch! This is a certified jerk moving his lips, a very stupid person.
This empty suit and moron is an affirmative action geek and shallower than a bird bath. He is profoundly stupid and urgently needs a new bunch of handlers before America laughs its ass off just listening to this stumblebums ignorance. It is no wonder why this black (let us not forget to remind us yet again, as BO ALWAYS does, of his color) affirmative action messiah has yet to crack 50% in any poll.
Geraldine Ferraro, Dem VP candidate, was right when she said "If it weren't for him being black, he would have long ago been dismissed as a serious candidate." You got that one right, Geraldine.

By doing this we could become a leader in world energy technology which would create thousand of jobs. See the unemployment rate today, highest in 5 years, boy those repub polices are suring working out for the middle class, so lets keep her going w/ 4 more years of mcsame.

Not sure where you are getting your info but this is totally incorrect.
The tech is not here yet to store the energy it produces. We do not have big enough batteries so to speak.
Wind and solar energy are the least reliable energy of all.
Like I ave stated 100 times here.
We should be doing all we can including calling our scientists to a another manhatten type project cutting thru the loop holes and PC BS.
But right now we need to be drilling here and drilling now.
Off shore and in ANWR.
The Democrats are doing their damnedest to keep us from drilling and lowering gas prices and it is going to cost Obama the election.
71% of Americans want to open up drilling.
