Which one of these headlines is real?
"International Con Man Barack Obama Leaves U.S. With $85 Million in Campaign Fundraising"
"Former Obama opponent now suing to prove President-elect's citizenship"
The top one is from The Onion and sits over a mirthful yarn of how the President-elect absconded with campaign money leaving behind two "daughters" who "authorities now believe were taken from an Alabama foster home six years ago."
The second is from the Web site of an NBC affiliate in Augusta, Ga., reporting that Alan Keyes, who was swamped by Obama in the 2004 Illinois Senate election and ran for President on the American Independent Party, is suing in California to stop the state's electoral votes from going to Obama until documentary evidence is provided to prove Obama is indeed a natural born citizen of the United States.
This is part of the Obama-was-really-born-in-Kenya foolishness that a few hardy anti-Obamans and, of course, talk radio, have clung to ferociously.
Journalists are accustomed to getting e-mails about this. Just this morning one arrived from someone from Faith2Action, proclaiming
"there are many reasons to doubt whether Barack Obama meets the requirements for the office of president. First, there's that pesky tape from Sarah Obama, Barack's grandmother, where she says, "I was in the delivery room in (Mombosa) Kenya when he was born Aug. 4, 1961." Secondly, there's the matter of U.S. law. If only one parent was an American citizen, as in Obama's case, the law at the time of Obama's birth required one parent to have been an American citizen for at least 10 years - five of which had to have happened after the age of 14. Since Obama's mother was only 18 at the time of Obama's birth, he would not qualify as an American citizen if his grandmother is right about him being born abroad."
Many believe the Obama/Kenya story is merely a ruse to distract the media and the public from the real election bombshell that Sarah Palin really is Tina Fey and her appearance on the Republican ticket was an elaborate ruse by NBC to launch a spinoff if 30 Rock fails.
Fact is, Obama provided the answer about his birthplace during the campaign, cleverly disguising it as a joke:

There is not a lot of "court minutes text" listed, and I'm not sure why. I have viewed many many case records on Hawaii's site, and generally the text minutes contain a rudimentary description of what was literally said, including the "back and forth" between opposing counsels. In this case, though, the text notes are extremely vague/abbreviated, and I'm not sure if there is a reason why. Here it is, verbatim:

Those parents could then bring a birth certifcate back from Kenya and register the child with a hospital in Hawaii and get a birth certificate and that birth would then be announced in the local paper. Today if that child asked for a copy of the birth certificate the short form version would look exactly like what Obama produced.
When Obama refused to produce the original birth certificate it did cause much speculation to start if there were other reasons that Obama was not a "natural born citizen". Some of these theories are on the fringe, but Obama deserves it for his obstinance in refusing to produce his records and have a proper agency vet or qualify him.
When it became obvious that Obama and the Democratic Party were going to stonewall the public on this issue, citizens started filing lawsuits asking the courts to require some governmental agency to properly vet or qualify Obama. Look around, as of today there is no official governmental agency that has come forward to say they have reviewed Obama's records and he is qualified. Anything from the Democratic National Committee, how about the Electoral College, how about the Federal Election Commission, any of the Secretaries of the various States, The Boy Scouts anything? There is nothing. Once again Obama supporters say why should he produce the records he has served as a State Senator and now a US Senator, surely he has been qualified before this. unfortunately, to hold those offices requires a lower standard as you only have to be a "natural born citizen" to hold the office of the President.
As a result citizens took it upon themselves to file lawsuits around the Country asking the courts to require Obama and the DNC to appear with the records so this question could be answered before the election. As we can all agree this would be better to find out before the election, rather than after due to the mischief that would result.
Several months ago 11 to 15 lawsuits were filed around the country. Most were filed in State courts asking the Secretary of their State to qualify Obama or take him off the ballot. At this time there are two of these cases now before the Supreme Court. There was a hearing yesterday in the Martin matter in Hawaii where the court was asked for an order to produce and make public the long form version of Obama's birth certificate. For those of you that say the State of Hawaii has ruled that Obama was born there and is a "natural born citizen" you are wrong. Go and read the actual statements. They are carefully worded statements that simple say the Department of Health holds the original birth certificate and that it looks like other ones?
There has now been a case filed in Sacramento Superior Court by Alan Keyes and the Independent Party. This lawsuit unlike the others will not suffer from the lack of standing arguments as Keyes was on the ballot in California. The lawsuit names Obama, Biden, the DNC, Deborah Brown the California Secretary of State and the 55 California Electors. Unlike the other lawsuits that for the most part were filed by citizens that were not attorneys, this suit is being handled by some very capable attorneys including Gary Kreep. This lawsuit will have the funds to serve all of the parties and prepare the discovery to order Obama to produce the records so that the Court and the Secretary of State of California can finally properly vet or qualify Obama.
If it is found that Obama does not meet the Constitutional standard of a "natural born citizen", as opposed to a citizen like Arnie that cannot hold the office, then Obama will not receive the 55 electoral votes of California, and it will spread to other States and Obama would not be able to assume the office. If Obama takes the oath of office he would have to step down.
The real question here is why would Obama not sign a release and pay $12.00 and produce the original birth certificate? Instead he and his team of attorneys have spent hundreds of thousands of dollars fighting this. So people are right, at this point because Obama is fighting so hard to protect his records people are asking for all of his records. This includes his long form version of his birth certificate, his school applications, bar records and all other records. Obama has brought this on himself and his actions speaks to his having something to hide.
Mr. Obama stop hiding and produce your records and answer this question in an open and transparent fashion before you take the oath of office. Should it be found out that you have been hiding information that you know would disqualify you for the office of the President there will be serious consequences and another serious blow to an already troubled United States. Mr. Obama is an attorney and he fully appreciates this issue and what his actions will mean for him and the United States.

If this is done before Obama is sworn in Biden may not be able to take the post as his rights are derivative of Obama. Obama will finally have to produce the records and prove his eligibility as he should have done last February when he was first asked. The only question is how fast the Courts can move on this on at what point in the process the decision is made if Obama is a "natural born citizen".
Again, factcheck, snopes and all of the other websites that claim the short form version of Obama's birth certificate proves this point are simply wrong. No evidence has been produced that would allow this question to be answered.

Keyes will probably hit the wall for the same reason.
And WHY will this happen?
Becasue, Obama HAS produced a valid birth certificate, and the Hawaiian government HAS verified this. The only conclusive proof of Obama's citizenship says he IS A CITIZEN. Any so-called evidence to the contrary can be nothing more than circumstantial, and since the conclusive proof shows Obama to be a citizen from birth, this issue is a dead end for those stupid and irrelevant enough to demand following it to the end.

Under Hawaii State law Obama needs to sign the release and pay the $12.00 to release the long form version, whatever it looks like.
The question is why Obama has refused to pay $12.00 and produced the long form birth certificate to end this? Why has he instead sealed all of his records? Why is the only evidence he has presented to date a short form birth certificate that on its face cannot answer the question whether Obama is a "natural born citizen" eligible for the office?
If there is something "embarrassing" in his records than I have a way to resolve this. Have Obama and the DNC go to Justice Thomas and ask him to review the records with two other Supreme Court Justices in closed session and then issue a ruling and seal the records. How about them apples?

The next point is that his step-dad took Barry and his mom to Indonesia. The key part here is that at that time in Indonesia in order to be enrolled in school you had to have Indonesian citizenship. Also at that time Indonesia didn't allow dual-citizenship which means, Barry Sotero (aka: Barack Hussein Obama) was legally an Indonesian (as of his last formal citizenship).
When he returned to the US he changed his name back to Barack Hussein Obama. He did not go through the naturalization process to become a naturalized citizen (also disallowed for the Presidency). Technically he is not an American Citizen even if he was born in Hawaii... due to his trip to Indonesia. The birth certificate question really reflect on the person himself rather than his citizenship.
Why hasn't he spent the $12 to authorize the release of his birth certificate? The longer he stalls on this the more it looks like he's trying to hide something.

Obama does not have to prove anything, no matter how many lawsuits are filed. The proof is on the ones bringing the cases.
No one has their original birth certificate, the state of their birth has that, and they do not, repeat, do not send them to nut jobs to slobber over. All anyone gets, is whatever the state deems appropiate.
If Obama himself wanted the original, they would say no. It is not his property. It is public property, and belongs to the state of Hawaii.

(I do not know whether this is true, but it may be the case, and why – if only right-wing bloggers are asking – should Obama even try to find out? We do not know that he know that even right-wing bloggers are asking to see the original records.)
So, what is wrong about the certification of live birth? What makes you believe that it is a fraud? Are you convinced that the officials in Hawaii are lying? If so, why -- they are not Democrats? They were appointed by a Republican governor. And to lie in this case subjects them to arrest for fraud if what they say were ever shown not to be true. They wouldn’t do it.
Obama has shown the only official document that proves his birth in Hawaii (Yes, the state record is the official document. Hospital records are not official and cannot be used in many cases. They are not accepted for example by the state department in getting a passport.)
The other side claims crazy things like his mother traveled to Kenya in the ninth month of pregnancy when you had to get a Yellow Fever shot and there are no photos of her in Kenya. Moreover, they claim that the only reason that there are no official records of Obama's mother being in Kenya in 1961 is that the Kenyan government is part of the conspiracy. This could (very unlikely but COULD) be true, but there is no confirmation of it.
Relax. Only if a court asks to see the Obama documents will there be an issue. If so, he has the documents and can show them, and the court is the ideal place to show them -- not on line where anyone can and will claim that they are forged.
