Pro-Palin ads say 'Thanks' for advocating conservative values
Think Sarah Palin got a bad rap during the campaign? Think she personifies the values the country needs?
A conservative group is raising money to air a series of ads praising Palin for advocating conservative values during the campaign.
The Alaska governor has come under much criticism after she and Sen. John McCain lost their bid for the White House, with some Republicans blaming her for their ticket's loss. Gov. Palin has granted numerous interviews with national media outlets, in an apparent bid to counter the negative views and secure her future in the Republican Party. Now she has some help. A political action committee called "Our Country Deserves Better" is raising money to air a series of TV advertisements voicing support for Gov. Palin. The group is headed by Howard Kaloogian, a California Republican and former state legislator.
All three versions of the ad -- which are being streamed on the PAC's website for now -- feature group members complimenting Gov. Palin over her role in the 2008 campaign. Lloyd Marcus, a singer-songwriter and spokesman for the group, says to the camera, "Thank you, for the grace and dignity you showed even when some tried to smear and destroy you."

Maybe they are talking about the "family values" of teen pregnacy or using your power to go after EX-family members?
It seems the wacko religious wing of the GOP just doesn't get it... Please keep Sarah Palin as the "new" face of the GOP! Nothing will make sure America turns it back on the GOP quicker than this wench!

Pretty clear that her brand of "conservative" values is EXACTLY what lost them the election.
People like Palin hate freedom because other people choose to live their lives differently. Palin and her ilk just cant handle other people having freedom. Freedom, to people like Palin, means the freedom to be as people like Palin would have you be. Thats what they mean when they talk about "values". If you dont have the same "Values" as people like Palin, they want to make laws that force you to behave as if you do.
It requires a fundamental lack of respect for other people's RIGHT to make different choices. Apparently, a majority of voting America is sick of it.
Finally, you cannot call over half the nation "Anti-American" and expect to win an election. As they said to McCarthy, I would ask Mrs. Palin "have you no decency left madam?" I am every bit as much an American as that bitch is. Disagreeing with the sanctamonious crack about which way the country should go doesnt mean I am against the country. She can GFHS as far as Im concerned.
Now, if she comes back and wants to campaign on her "conservative" platform WITHOUT the McCarthyism...more power to her. That I wouldnt have a problem with...though I wouldnt vote for it either.

-While gov'nr of Alaska, raised the state severance taxes to unprecedented levels to spread the wealth. Got busted for ethics violations.
-While campaigining on the republicant ticket, used nationalism and scapegoating (huge tenants of fascism) to pursue her agenda

The freaks we're seeing inhabiting the so-called conservative party these days are an unholy alliance of libertarians (who want everyone to leave them alone, and to leave everyone else alone), neocons (whose only solution to anything is invasion, war and violence) and religious fundamentalists, mostly of the Christian stripe (who want to cram their views of morality and the way we should all live and behave down everyone's throats). ***** Have you noticed how child-like people are?
(From a teacher in the Nashville area)
We are worried about "the cow" when it is all about the "Ice Cream"
The most eye-opening civics lesson I ever had was while teaching
third grade this year. The presidential election was heating up and
some of the children showed an interest. I decided we would have an
election for a class president.
We would choose our nominees. They would make a campaign speech
and the class would vote.
To simplify the process, candidates were nominated by other class
members. We discussed what kinds of characteristics these students
should have. We got many nominations and from those, Jamie and Olivia
were picked to run for the top spot.
The class had done a great job in their selections. Both candidates
were good kids. I thought Jamie might have an advantage because he
got lots of parental support. I had never seen Olivia's mother.
The day arrived when they were to make their speeches Jamie went
first. He had specific ideas about how to make our class a better
place. He ended by promising to do his very best. Every one applauded.
He sat down and Olivia came to the podium.
Her speech was concise. She said, "If you will vote for me, I will
give you ice cream." She sat down. The class went wild. "Yes! Yes! We
want ice cream."
She surely would say more. She did not have to. A discussion
followed. How did she plan to pay for the ice cream? She wasn't sure.
Would her parents buy it or would the class pay for it. She didn't
know. The class really didn't care. All they were thinking about was
ice cream.
Jamie was forgotten. Olivia won by a land slide.
Every time Barack Obama opened his mouth he offered ice cream and
fifty-two percent of the people reacted like nine year olds. They want
ice cream. The other forty-eight percent know they're going to have to
feed the cow and clean up the mess.

I'd like to say that it's not a conservative value to provide cover for sub-par politicians and policies, but it's hard to say that without laughing in dismay.
Palin in some ways secured the advance of feminism within the GOP. No mainstream conservatives were allowed to criticize her choice to be a careerist woman and mother of five. This was left to fringe rightists and those liberals with newfound pretend regard for domesticity.
Palin also supported several feminist programs such as Title IX funding.
It is obvious that some left-wingers' criticism of Palin reflects their belief that Palin's new son or her new grandchild should have been aborted.
This makes it hard to point out that by presenting her daughter on the national stage, Palin herself helped mainstream the "alternative lifestyle" of teen pregnancy. Her behavior was justified by pro-lifers so scared about encouraging abortion that they can't bring themselves to admit unwed teen pregnancy is a very suboptimal situation.

The teacher in Nashville, obviously a fiction of the right wing, doesn't do a very good job of reaching a conclusion. She sounds like the story of the biology student that I posted the other day. After cutting off all the frog's legs, it didn't respond to the verbal stimulus to hop. The biology student concluded that frogs become deaf when their legs are cut off.
The right wingers who created the fiction of the Nashville teacher didn't think too much about their fable. The Neo-Cons and George Bush have said for a long time that tax cuts will do everything to make our country better. Unfortunately, they governed like a group of spendthrifts and deadbeats. The whole idea of spend now and pay later is crashing down upon the nation. That is the real reason why the GOP got booted. It is unfortunate that the teacher in the fable cannot even reach a rational conclusion from her own constructs.
Perhaps the stupidest thing Bush did was propose to fight a war and not pay for it. Any war will potentially cause an upheaval in the economy. But instead of asking the American people to support the war by showing sacrifice, he instead offered the American people the first tax cut ever in time of war. In essence, he offered ice cream to the American people.
For all the high sounding moral superiority vested in the ice cream story, it is truly ironic that the teacher doesn't even know ice cream when she is eating it.

2 days later I had to ask her "do you believe in life after death." "your grandma dropped off your lunch this morning"

Also, it would have been more accurate if the child was offering shit-flavored ice cream.
Seriously, these cons will eat a shit sandwich with glass if it was bush who was doing the dumping, all the while proclaiming how great their prime rib sandwich tastes.

This is a good piece about the election from Garrison Keillor:
Be happy, dear hearts, and allow yourselves a few more weeks of quiet exultation. It isn't gloating, it's satisfaction at a job well done. He was a superb candidate, serious, professorial but with a flashing grin and a buoyancy that comes from working out in the gym every morning. He spoke in a genuine voice, not senatorial at all. He relished campaigning. He accepted adulation gracefully.
He brandished his sword against his opponents without mocking or belittling them. He was elegant, unaffected, utterly American, and now (Wow) suddenly America is cool. Chicago is cool. Chicago!!!
We threw the dice and we won the jackpot and elected a black guy with a Harvard degree, the middle name Hussein and a sense of humor -- he said, "I've got relatives who look like Bernie Mac, and I've got relatives who look like Margaret Thatcher." The French junior minister for human rights said, "On this morning, we all want to be American so we can take a bite of this dream unfolding before our eyes." When was the last time you heard someone from Fra nce say they wanted to be American and take a bite of something of ours? Ponder that for a moment.
The world expects us to elect pompous yahoos and instead we have us A 47-year-old prince from the prairie who cheerfully ran the race, and when his opponents threw sand at him, he just smiled back. He'll be the first president in history to look really good making a jump shot. He loves his classy wife and his sweet little daughters. He looks good in the kitchen. He can cook Indian or Chinese but for his girls he will do mac and cheese. At the same time, he knows pop music, American lit and constitutional law. I just can't imagine anybody cooler. Look at a photo of the latest pooh-bah conference -- the hausfrau Merkel, the big glum Scotsman, that goofball Berlusconi, Putin with his B-movie bad-boy scowl, and Sarkozy, who looks like a district manager for Avis -- you put Barack in that bunch and he will shine.
It feels good to be cool and all of us can share in that, even sour old right-wingers and embittered blottoheads. Next time you fly to Heathrow and hand your passport to the man with the badge, he's going to see "United States of America" and look up and grin. Even if you worship in the church of Fox, everyone you meet overseas is going to ask you about Obama and you may as well say you voted for him because, my friends, he is your line of credit over there. No need anymore to try to look Canadian. And the coolest thing about him is the fact that back in the early '90s, given a book contract after the hoo-ha about his becoming the First Black Editor of the Harvard Law Review (FBEHLR), instead of writing the basic exploitation book he could've written, he put his head down and worked hard for a few years and wrote a good book, an honest one, which, since his rise in politics, has earned the Obamas enough to buy a very nice house and put money in the bank. A successful American entrepreneur. The last American president to write a book all by his lonesome self, I believe, was Theodore Roosevelt, who, on graduation from Harvard, wrote "The Naval War of 1812," and in my humble opinion, Obama's is the better book for the general reader, but you be the judge.
Our hero who galloped to victory has inherited a gigantic mess. The country is sunk in debt. The Treasury announced it must borrow $550 billion to get the government through the fourth quarter, more than the entire deficit for 2008, so he will have to raise taxes and not only on bankers and lumber barons. His promise never to raise the retirement age is not a good idea. Whatever he promised the Iowa farmers about subsidizing ethanol is best forgotten at this point. We may not be getting our National Health Service cards anytime soon. And so on and so on.
So enjoy the afterglow of the election a while longer. We all walk taller this fall. People in Copenhagen and Stockholm are sending congratulatory e-mails -- imagine! We are being admired by Danes and Swedes! And Chicago becomes the First City. Step aside, San Francisco. Shut up, New York. The Midwest is cool now. The mind reels.

One of the defining moments of the campaign for me was her looking straight into the camera and saying "...the investigation clears me of breaking law OR ANY ETHICS VIOLATION" when it was EXACTLY that that they found.
It was then that I realized that anybody who could look right at a camera and bald-faced lie to the American people is not a "values" candidate.

I see Sarah Palin in the GOP's future. She's the kind of candidate that spins up the left and that in itself is the vote of success!
Keep after 'em Sarah! America Loves You!
Now that we'll elect our first non-American president we also can get Arnie for 2012.
We'll be Baaackk!

Let's not forget the "small government" conservative values of paying amoral private contractors like Blackwater and Halliburton huge sums of money to gun down innocent civilians and commit other war crimes while under the legal protection of the State Department, and sticking the Americans taxpayers with the bill. Thanks, George.
Oh yeah, don't forget the wonderful conservative values that led Bush to attack a sovereign country that hadn't attacked us and embroiling the United States in yet another senseless, immoral, and expensive war (think Vietnam, those who forget history...) we can't break free of while our own economy goes down the toilet, and people are losing their houses and jobs. Thanks for that, too, George.

Thanks, Sarah, for your part helping to ensure that the 2008 election was a landslide instead of a squeaker that McCain could steal.
McCain was this year's John Kerry (even his own party members hesitated to vote for him), and Palin was our Dan Quayle, so clueless, she didn't realize that SNL was trashing her on national TV.

I was bored at work on a slow holiday so I decided I would read this blog. What a waste of time, very little discussion of the issues and lots of personal attacks (from both sides I might add).
I look forward to some time in the future being able to see a campaign that focuses on issues and not "the politics of personal destruction".

Oh, Jimmy boy, you are sooooo moral! Soooo much better than everyone else. How exactly does being bored (and boring) and not having enough brains to have an opinion work out to being better than everyone else? Listen jackoff, go back to sleep or do your job or go read some other blog that meets your oh-so-high standards of blogging and leave us philistines in our anti-intellectual funk to this one.
