The Arena Football League has entered the video game arena.

In February, EA Sports will release an AFL video game for Xbox and PlayStation2 units. The cover boy for the video game will be Colorado Crush quarterback John Dutton.

In June, Dutton helped lead the Crush to a 51-48 victory over the Georgia Force in ArenaBowl XIX. He also won an AFL championship ring in 2002 with the San Jose SaberCats.

"I'm honored to be the first cover athlete for this new franchise and very excited about working with EA on Arena Football," Dutton said in a statement. "I think it's great that fans can now experience the true action of Arena Football from the leader in sports video games."

In early January, the Crush players, coaches and front-office personnel are expected to celebrate the team's championship season during a private ring presentation and viewing of the 2004-05 season highlights film.
