Naming the greatest
Which player do you consider to be the best quarterback in NFL playoff history?
› Terry Bradshaw, Pittsburgh Steelers
› Joe Montana, San Francisco 49ers
› Tom Brady, New England Patriots
› Bart Starr, Green Bay Packers
› Sid Luckman, Chicago Bears
› Other
Too subjective. Do I look like I remember Sid Luckman? Bart Starr? I was two. And even the people that do remember, memories tend to gloss over what reality was. Terry Bradshaw, what a joke, the stats of his first two superbowls, pathetic. First half of his career, pathetic. What a loud-mouth over-rated jerk he is. As far as performance, he is the original Trent Dilfer. Ordinary, average guy. I'm a Bronco fan first, but I'm a football fan. There was no comparison between Montanna and Elway in the big games. Elway carried 3 teams that had no business being there. He was physically magnificent. But Montanna and Brady are different. They are so damn clutch. They just don't make mistakes. They are not exciteable. John was just an exciteable boy. I have watched football religiously since the mid-70s and I have seen nothing like Montanna and Brady. The precision is magic to watch. The way they hit the receivers in stride, awesome. Marino and Manning always appear to be better in the regular season. Then along comes the post season and Brady and Montanna are simply at a whole different level than anyone else. Aikman was almost there, but he can't compare to Brady simply because he had a much greater supporting cast, receivers, running back, dominant offensive line. I consider Montanna the greatetst now, but that could easily change after Brady is done.
