Nuggets to deal with traveling calls
It has been documented on more than one occasion that the Denver Nuggets have not produced a winning road record since joining the NBA in the 1976-77 season.
Even when the Nuggets posted their best win total in the NBA (54 in the 1987-88 season), they didn't have a winning record (19-22) on the road. The club's all-time road record at the start of the current season was 332-841.
Will this be the season that Denver cracks the .500 plateau away from home? To do so, the Nuggets (currently 11-15 on the road) will need to win at least 10 of their 15 remaining road games. Since George Karl took over as head coach last season, the Nuggets have been an above-.500 team away from home, having gone 24-22 in road games played in the regular season.
The road record under Karl is 25-24 including three postseason games in San Antonio.
The Detroit Pistons are the only Eastern Conference team with a winning road record (19-7) this season. Four teams have a winning road record in the Western Conference -- the San Antonio Spurs, Los Angeles Clippers, Dallas Mavericks and Phoenix Suns. The Suns play Denver at Pepsi Center on Wednesday.
