Crush hopes to put best foot 'fourth'
With a win at Nashville on Saturday, the defending Arena Football League-champion Colorado Crush will start the season with four victories. It's not something that happens often with Denver pro sports teams.
The Denver Broncos have started a season with four or wins on five different occasions, most recently in 2003. The Denver Nuggets have opened a season with at least four straight wins three times since joining the NBA in the 1976-77 season.
The Colorado Avalanche has not opened a season with four wins since moving to Denver for the 1995-96 season, but it has started two seasons undefeated after four games -- 3-0-1 in 1997-98 and 2-0-2 in 2000-01. The Colorado Rockies started the 1995 season with a four-game winning streak.
The Chicago Rush is the most recent AFL team to open a season with four wins, having done so in 2004. The Crush, Austin Wranglers and Dallas Desperados have 3-0 records. Dallas plays Austin tonight.

Marcus Meloan of Centennial finished tied for seventh place at Carlton Oaks in Santee, Calif. -- the first tournament stop of 2006 on the A.G. Spanos Tour. Meloan was five strokes behind the leader with a three-round total of 217.
