Nuggets can't find gear in postseason
There is truth in the numbers: The Denver Nuggets are 2-10 in their past 12 playoff appearances and barely have averaged 90 points in those games.
Not being able to reach 100 points against the league’s better defenses is understandable. The Nuggets, however, have been unable to crack 90 points in five of their past six postseason games.
Is it as simple as the Nuggets running into stingy defenses in the postseason, or do they forget how to play the brand of offensive basketball that helped them win during the regular season?
The Nuggets were one of only five NBA teams that averaged 100 or more points during the 2005-06 regular season. Yet, Denver put up only 87 points in each of its first two playoff games against the Los Angeles Clippers. And though the Nuggets averaged 23 assists per game during the regular season, but have only 16 per game thus far against L.A.
Last year, the Nuggets averaged 99.5 points and 24 assists per game during the regular season. In five postseason games against the San Antonio Spurs Denver averaged 90.2 points and 16 assists.

ESPN's NFL Draft Guide lists University of Northern Colorado athlete Reed Doughty as its "Super Sleeper" at safety. Doughty was categorized as the following: "Look, at the end of the draft, teams are mostly looking for players with upside. Clearly, Doughty isn't that guy. But he does bring some solid proven skills to the field. It's rare to see him make a mistake in coverage, and he fills hard when he reads run . . . In other words, he's perfect for a team that's thin at safety and needs quality depth."
