On Monday Avalanche coach Tony Granato told me he was very hopeful that Joe Sakic would decide to play another season. On Wednesday, Sakic signed to play his 20th season in the NHL.
It's just a gut feeling, but now that Marek Svatos has agreed to terms, I think Joe Sakic will begin to negotiate his final contract with the Avalanche.
