Rapids staff move No. 1: John Murphy
The Rapids announced Thursday that John Murphy will focus solely on his duties as director of player development.
The team cited the recent success of young players such as Kosuke Kimura, John DiRaimondo and Nick LaBrocca and the establishment of the Rapids Academy.
Murphy, who returned recently from Euro 2008 in Austria, also will focus on international scouting.
He is also completing the final stages of his UEFA pro badge, which will enable him to become the first American-born professional coach to earn this distinction.
