How Saturday's 90-minute loss looked in my head

In trying to describe just how painful the Rapids' 1-1 tie against Real Salt Lake was Saturday night at Dick's Sporting Goods Park, perhaps a visual representation of what was going through my head during the game would be appropriate.

The 1-1 loss (technically a tie, emotionally a loss) eliminated the Rapids from the playoffs for the second straight season, put RSL into the playoffs for the first time and clinched the Rocky Mountain Cup for the Utah team for the second consecutive year.

Now, remember back to just a few days ago, when hope filled the autumn air and fans' eyes were wide with excitement ...

First minute - OK, the Rapids need a win; Salt Lake just needs not to lose.
