J.J.: Dy-no-mite!

It's J.J. Day.

No, not that J.J.

It's this J.J. -- the Iowa Democratic Party's annual Jefferson Jackson Dinner.

The party's top six presidential candidates are pulling out all the stops for the downtown Des Moines event, which (as the Washington Post points out HERE today) has provided some major turning points in past run-ups to the first-in-the-nation Iowa caucuses.

Sen. Barack Obama is bringing in Grammy winning performing artist John Legend for a pre-event concert, and all the candidates are sharpening their rhetoric for appearances before a sold-out crowd of 9,000.

Will Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton be able to solidify her Iowa lead? Will former Sen. John Edwards be able to recapture the top spot? Will New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson or Sens. Joe Biden or Chris Dodd shake the rafters and jostle the standings?

Watch the "Back Roads to the White House" site and the Rocky Mountain News for full coverage as the festivities sink in. (Good times, good times...)

In the meantime, we just found Jimmie "J.J." Walker's recent posting evaluating Sen. Barack Obama's chances. CHECK IT OUT.

Let's just say J.J. hits him with...dy-no-mite!
