    CHECK THAT MATH, ED.
The Super Bowl is played every year. Tomorrow is the 41st time the game will be played. Were black coaches trying to get to the Super Bowl 44 years before the game was even played?

It took a long time before anibiotics were used. It took a long time before computers were used. It took along time before the dinosaurs died out. It took a long time when the earth was formed...SO WHAT???? I have a dream.......that all this black boo hoo bullpuckey be cast aside ( Jesse Adulterer Jackson has made a fortune using the race card!) Just ask all of the white owned businesses he has extorted over the years with his phony Rainbow Coalition and let people, black and white get on with their lives without CONSTANTLY being reminded of the sordid past. It just causes more animosity with the races!!
What's done is DONE I am sure no-one today is proud of the past concerning the black race but, it happened and it is sad. They say "time heals all" So, lets get to the healing part. Stein this cartoon is earth wormy.

Note to those readers about the math: The NFL was formally chartered in 1922, 85 years ago. I'm fully aware that the Super Bowl didn't start until many years later. I could have explained all that in the cartoon, but that wouldn't have left much room for the drawing, or I ould have chosen to call it the NFL Championship Gme, but people know it as the Super Bowl, so I chose to let the discrepancy happen, assumimg most readers would react to the point of the cartoon. As usual, I overestimated some of you.

It took a while, that's true.
It probably would've taken even longer without the "Rooney Rule" too.
The thing is that it was bound to happen sooner or later, it just should've happened a while ago except that it wasn't but a decade or two ago that there were any black coaches in the NFL and it took time for the cream of the crop to rise to the top.
I just hope people quit making a big deal out of it and just make the natural assumption that skin color doesn't matter, ability matters and both of these fine gentleman are more than able.

Oh, that's great, Ed. Insult the people who care enough to comment. The explanation was great but come on.

And the point of the cartoon? Not all that great either.

I've said it before, Lovie Smith and I, not only the first two African-Americans, but Christian coaches showing that you can win doing it the Lord's way.

I think there may be a larger issue here than just race.

The Deniers are still out in full force. They deny that global warming is real, stem cells can cure diseases, race still plays a factor in business, sports, etc....

Wake up and smell reality people.

I understood your point. Sometimes, however, if you can't make your point without saying something patently wrong, you make your point a different way or you make a different point. Apparently, I overestimated a professional communicator.
