Dam Road
The question most often asked of cartoonists is "where do you get your ideas?" Some just seem obvious to me. Take two unrelated items in yesterday's news--that the Denver Water Board is closing the Dillon Dam road for security reasons (blow it up, and Denver's out of water, not to mention what happens below the dam), and the prolonged drought--put them in a blender, puree for a minute or two, and you get this cartoon.

The bad news is that the Denver Water Board has now told the world about the damage. Had they only told us it was being closed for maintenance until the DNC was over. But, of course, with the world watching, the Denver Water Board advertises Dillon as a prime target.
