Drill, Baby, Drill

Well, now we know why the government is pushing so hard for offshore drilling. It used to be that the bureaucrats and the oil companies being in bed with each other was just a metaphor. Now we find that it's literally true. This ought to help our long-suffering public servants shake their image as dull, uninspired paper shufflers. Party animals, these guys. Who knew?

The energy policies of McCain and Obama or not now very far apart, except that McCain wants off-shore drilling to be accelerated NOW, and 40-plus nuclear (nucular for Bush and Palin) power plants to be built soon. It is time for McCain to tell the American people exactly where all those nuclear power plants will be built, when they will start producing how much electric power, how much it will cost to get them into operation, and who will pay for the construction. The same questions need to be answered about the number, location, timing, production quantities of oil, cost, and who pays for more off-shore drilling rigs. He has made these promises because of the recent rise in gasoline prices; how and when will his proposals lower gasoline prices?

Myopic views are funny in cartoons. No great insight here. So what? You drive up to your gasoline station, swipe your card, pull out a hose and fill your car. Stein's view is only a measurement of how well his liberal teachers and the liberal class warfare media has done their job.
Our manufacturing used to be a source of pride for Americans. Since the late 50's and mid 60's the media and education has made a concerted effort to paint all executives "bad".
Our cartoonist here plays to the Boulder crowd, which is one of the reasons why local paper's are "downsizing" while they tell their bosses "It's the internet boss, it's the technology"...
What technology HAS done is show people that there is a lot more viable points of view in America than the major media would give us cr
I'd like to see a cartoon showing how stupid it is to think taxing income, investments and savings doesn't weaken us in a world market.

This is getting a bit more subjective, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. The interface is colorful, has more flair, and some cool features like 'Mixview' that let you quickly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you're listening to. Clicking on one of those will center on that item, and another set of "neighbors" will come into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune "Social" is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.
